Nice pictures, even if some of the uniforms are problematic.

Come on, that British haversack in the last picture is completely wrong...

I hope it doesn't look like that one. I've seen a few surviving ones and they all had brass buttons (in the aforementioned picture they appear to be plastic/bone) and the front flap only covered the top third.

See.

I guess it's only a haversack, though. At least it's not a canteen marked 'BO'...the horror...

mine is as per a pattern i got from the 33rd, my old one was made by me and followed no pattern

most of the guys over here still use the 'BO' symbol on their canteens, they just wont listen...

Point them in the direction of the National Archives (of the UK), of which even a cursory look which will reveal the Board of Ordnance didn't start issuing camp equipment (including canteens) until 1821. Between 1808 and 1821 camp equipment was issued by the Storekeeper General's Department, and before that the Commissariat.

But I guess some people are stuck in their ways: Osprey books still claim the British wore knapsacks with wooden frames in the Napoleonic era.

I believe the Dutch troops did actually have frames in their backpacks.

Why is there a British rifleman in the French ranks? and why is he wearing his equipment wrong? regulations clearly stated that riflemen should wear the belts and equipment under the greatcoat.

Also, Schneider for the win. Samson looks like an asshole.

A few of the rifles were used to bulk out the french lines during filming as one french regiment refused to do filming as they would not get paid...
