It would be badass to fire some Mosin or PPSH.

I think: Mg42's overheat too quickly, and are quite inaccurate compared to British and American counterparts, also, PPSHs, are WAY lighter, so easier to carry around, though, their magazines are quite big and heavy, and if you are shooting longer 'sprays' you get massive recoil

Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

MG-42's accurate enough, overheating is a problem with the volume of fire but changing barrels is super easy. Easier than changing barrels for the 34. The volume of fire is fantastic, and I'd prefer it over something slower like a Maxim or a Browning.

In German WWII reenacting there's a huge amount of K98ks followed by very few G43s and MP40s. Following them are STG44s and finally MGs.

In Soviet reenacting there's a bunch of Mosins, but the PPS-43 is plentiful for some reason. There's more of them then there are German automatics, haha.

Having a PPSh-41 with a round drum would be great. 72 rounds of face to face kill. But that's damn expensive. Also finding a good round drum that still works like a charm is a toughie. Most are so old now they jam more than they did back then. You'll usually see stick magazines.

That's interesting. I'm surprised to hear that PPSH drum jam up more than they did. I've always thought those thing were well known for having "jam" at a rare time. Or maybe its a myth i heard.

ill stick with my Bessy...and your right about the amount of rifles with ww2 german reenactment, over here the germans are really a rifle only force, and a panzer 2 :) , due to gun laws but somehow the allied units have MG galor :/

There's one in the Mid-Atlantic area that has a few guys who do Landwehr and Silesian Musketeers.
