Yes, I forgot to remove it. It's so small, insignificant and not-seeable to the wearer!
I will remove it as soon as possible, though.

Just tell people it's bone. Rare for military buttons, but not unheard of. After all, being able to bullshit your way out of mistakes is pretty well an essential skill for reenactors, isn't it?
