How goes your Confederate Impression Munk?

good good. Still need pants tho :/

Mine came a couple days ago. I will get a picture up tomorrow.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

The fifth day of Kwanzaa goes well! Today I learned that it is an actual holiday and not just something people made up in the 60's.

Also, I got some socks. They are pretty dope.
You have no idea how much cavalry players put practice in taking down grounded units, if the infantry regiments put in half the practice they would never complain about cavalry in the first place. Instead we get "oh cav is just op any retard can do it" thats just you being shit, not us being op.

I'm reading Sharpe's Rifles and I've got to say, there was a part that reminded me of how we roll in battles. Sharpe and his small company were attacked by dismounted French dragoons and instead of retreating or engaging them at distance he bayonet charged them and drove them away lol.

Idk never really dug the sharp series. A Napoleonic Novel you might like called  Four Days in June

Btw be sure to show Darkguns the ropes in preparations or the LB on Friday.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Ha, Cornwell commenting it's a triumph. Sounds like shit then. Hows the Pro-British-bias?

Good. Let's keep it that way. The books are amusing and nice to read, but the fact Cornwell thinks he writes historical correct books overshadows that. Sharpe's Waterloo is a terrible piece of propaganda. Plus, troughout the books Cornwell drops quite a few historical mistakes, especially concerning non-British (As he doesn't think those important enough to research). Once again, Sharpe's Waterloo is the worst of the worst.

I agree with Duuring, it's an entertaining read but I wouldn't place any value on it's historical content. There are several historic mistakes as well which Duuring pointed out. For example he describes the Cazadores as wearing scarlet uniforms yet I've never found anything on scarlet uniformed cazadores. Other than that I like the image it paints of John Moore's retreat. But I will probably skip Sharpe's Waterloo. Just awful that. Giving credit to Quatre Bras to the British as well as the breaking of the Old Guard.

Almost any historical action novel shouldn't really be taken for historical accuracy.

Almost any historical action novel shouldn't really be taken for historical accuracy.

There's a difference between writing historical mistakes and re-writing history altogether. Cornwell does the last.

Nice going, Sergeant-major. Too bad about the uniform though. Guess you can't have 'em all.
