11ème Régiment de Hussards is an EU based light cavalry-hussar regiment that aims to provide a hilarious environment for its players, aswell as teaching them a thing or two about the glorious history that is Napoleonic warfare. Seasoned by countless battles and the horde of barbarians at our very gates, we welcome any challenge with great joy, for it is when we are truly challenged we perform. We are always ready to defend, and project, our Emperors' will! .

History

First Formation The 11th Hussars Regiment is raised by order of 28 July 1793 from the Light Cuirassiers Corps of the Germanic Legion, reinforced by the 2nd Hussars Corps of Freedom and by the Republican Horsemen Corps. The regiment takes part in the campaigns of 1793-1795 in the Armies of the West, where it distinguishes itself at Challans, of the Rhine and of the Eastern-Pyrenees, of 1796-1797 in the Army of Rhin-et-Moselle, where it distinguishes itself at Biberach. Replenished during 1797, he then takes part in the campaigns of 1798-1800 in the Armies of Helvetia and of Italy. The 11th Hussars Regiment is converted to 29e Régiment de Dragons during the reorganization of 1803.

Second Formation Following the annexation of Holland by France in 1810, the 2nd Dutch Hussars Regiment is incorporated in French Army as its 11th Hussars Regiment by order of 18 August 1810. The regiment leaves Spain to be reorganized and replenished in its depot of Arras and joins then the Grand Army to take part in the campaigns of 1812 in the 1st Corps and of 1813 and 1814 in the 2nd Cavalry Corps, where he distinguishes itself at Hanau. The 11th Hussars Regiment is disbanded on 12 May 1814 and its strength transferred to the 5th Chasseurs-a-Cheval Regiment. EVENTS Our regiment does not have a fixed schedule. We want to provide an enjoyable event schedule with different  regiments of the community each and every time,  so we have a different schedule each week. Limited with 3 events maximum  -that does not mean we cannot have more than three events per week! Here are the event types we are attending; Linebattles  are the type of events we attend the most. In order to have an enjoyable experience in linebattles, we will be attending  different type of linebattles (for instance no artillery linebattles, line +cav only linebattles etc.) with different regiments each time ! Cavalry Battles  , The 11e is always ready and eager to have a challenge. We will often have cavalry battles against other regiments. In this kind of events we will not use any invites playing with us, to show the power of our own! Tournaments As we are a competitive regiment, we will always be attending and supporting any cavalry tournament within the community. It does not matter what kind of tournament it is, we will rarely not have enough teams and all of our members will enjoy each and every tournament! Others, sometimes - rarely - we will be attending the events as a ''fun squad'' with different kind of classes  - for instance artillery. Note that this will not be enforced by the officers, and will only happen if requested by one of our members

RECRUITMENT We will always welcome the new members who like to play Cavalry in this DLC. Note that if you decide to join us, you will not be seen as just a new recruit, but you will be considered as one more member who will share the glory of our regiment! History

Austrian Cuirassiers

The cuirassiers wore white coats and breeches. During campaign they wore grey overalls over or instead of the tight elegant breeches. The boots were below knee. From about 1805 the comb on the black leather helmet of cuirassiers was heightened, with a brass strip up the front for other ranks; the front-plates now bore the cypher 'F.I.' Men's hair had been cut short, with sideburns extending no lower than the bottom of the ear. Moustaches were obligatory for the privates but officers had to be clean shaven. The cuirass was of blank iron, blackened, lined and trimmed at the edges with white leather. The breastplate only (Brustharnisch) was worn and was fastened with a narrow whitened leather waist belt and straps which passed over the shoulders to cross at the back (kürasskreuz) and fastened to the rear of the waist belt, the tips of the straps fastening to the breast of the kurass with black leather straps. All buckles and fittings were white metal. It seems that in all german speaking countries the so called Doppelkürasse was abandoned (for ideological ?? perspectives). In facts many usually said that: “Eine brave Cavalerie dürfe dem Feinde niemals den Rücken kehren” (Brave cavalry must never show its back to the enemy!) History of the Regiment Before Battle of Aspern , regiment was  in the Brigade of Baron Ignaz von Lederer, Division Hessen Homburg, II Reserve Corps and in the cavalry Reserve of the 3rd Column (Hohenzollern) at Eggmühl. On April 21 the regiment lost all all of their supplies on the way to Landshut. On April 22 evening regiment was involved in the French attack and pursue at Alt-Eglofsheim. The day after regiment deployed between Eggmühl and Ratisbon in order to cover the withdrawal, and was sturdily engaged in a large cavalry battle. At Battle of Aspern ,  regiment was with the Reserve Corps (Prince Liechtenstein) in the Brig. Kroyher, Division Kienmayer. Led by Prinz Johann von Liechtenstein himself during the first day, the Cuirassiers fought a very hard battle in the second day, again attached to Baron Lederer, but only with few losses: 7 men and 15 horses dead. At Battle of Wagram , with Brig. Lederer, the regiment advanced till Raschdorf. In spite of a daring conduct the Hohenzollern were forced to retreat at Markcount Neusiedl. They took place under the II Column and were sent to help the IV corps, under attack, in  hopeless mission due to the infernal artillery fire. The chaotic battle determined their attachment to the cavalry Brig. Rothkirch (div. Nostitz), withdrawing with it till Korneuburg. Losses at Wagram were referred as very high. - after Wagram: it returned with the Brig. Lederer, Div. Hessen Homburg, in the cavalry Reserve Corps, deploying in the rear of the first frontline.
