Nassau Grenadier
2nd Regiment

History:
The troops from the Duchy of Nassau fought for the Confederation of the Rhine in Spain. They compiled a credible combat record while in the Peninsula but the 2nd Regiment still deserted to the British en mass when the opportunity presented itself. After spending the rest of the War in captivity in Britain, they were released back to Nassau during the Congress of Vienna in 1814. With Napoleon's return from exile, they were part of the Netherlands Army since the Prince of Orange was also the Duke of Nassau. They fought well at Quatre Bras being the first units to make contact with the French and at Waterloo were heavily engaged at the chateaus of Hugomount on the right and Papelotte on the left of the Anglo-Allied line.

Modifications / Re: Mod Idea Collection
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:39:13 pm »
I have a mod idea that's way cooler than all of your ideas and it is sexy and badass.

A Sharpe-themed overhaul mod.

Reskin several units in the game to some of the uniforms from the Sharpe series, for example:
French Voltigeurs = Brigade Loup Infantry
French Dragoons or Hussars = Brigade Loup Cavalry
British Line Infantry = South Essex
Real Compania Irlandesa
The hilariously inaccurate French(/Polish?) lancers
British Horse-Guards = Provosts
British light infantry = The Dutch jaegers from Quatre Bras

Also replace all of the in-game music with the sexy sexy 80s music from the Sharpe soundtrack

Reskin the 95th Riflemen to have the chosen-men armband
Give the 95th Rifle sergeant a 9-barreled volley gun (just a reskin, doesn't actually have 9 barrels)
Sharpe-style texture for the 95th Rifle officer complete with heavy cavalry sword

Replace the 95th Rifle Officer's shouts with the multitude of creative cuss-words and insults shouted by Sharpe throughout the series

Modifications / Re: Suggestion! A Mod that Removes Blocking?
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:27:15 pm »
I've been suggesting this for a while now. I think a more efficient solution would be eliminating the down-block because the current animation simply looks silly and you couldn't statically block a stab/thrust, you had to parry it off to the side, like what this community has come to call "chambering." The up and side blocks for sword duels are accurate and fine, but the current system for blocking thrusts is silly. We can't create a perfect melee system but I think removing the down-block and forcing players to either evade or parry ("chamber") thrusts would be a step in the right direction and a big improvement. Combat would be faster, more fluid, more action-oriented as well as realistic. Melee charges would be a brutal, meat-grinder type affair with both sides colliding as opposed to spread-out dance competitions. Footwork is a wonderful part of combat but with the current system the footwork required in a melee fight is silly and makes combat slow and more like square-dancing than hand-to-hand combat.

There are different ways to view every man. To some he's a hero, to other's he's a villain. Regardless, who's next?

Invisible got it and yes Sir_Spill, they really are. I love the concept  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Blitz_craig I love your Neuchatel Battalion but for some reason the ranker's epaulets don't have any textures, they're just completely white.

Sorry, I was using the wrong model for the ranker unit. I have fixed the problem and if you re-download the package and paste the mm_french_uniforms.brf file into the resources folder of your module, the rankers epaulets should be textured. Thanks for letting me know.
Awesome! I love the Canaries uniform and you did a great job on the textures!
