Historical Discussion / France and the rifle

So I'm sure most of you know that France didn't use rifles in the Napoleonic Wars (for a variety of reasons) my question is, do you think that France's decision not to embrace the rifle at that time was a good idea or a bad one? The core question really is whether riflemen are superior skirmishers to light infantry or vice versa.

Technical Support / Losing connection within minutes of joining a server

This problem has been happening more and more frequently and it's quite a bother. And I know that it can't be my internet because I've tried it on 3 different internet connections and it persists no matter who's internet I am using. Is this just shit luck with internet or is there something in my game? This happened with my previous version of NW and I just recently purchased the steam version of it (there were several reasons why I had to)

Nederlandstalig Forum / Trying to learn Dutch

I personally love the history of the people of Belgium and the Netherlands and I find it one of the most fascinating regions historically and I've been trying to learn Dutch for some time now but it's proven rather difficult, especially seeing as I have no real resources at my disposal. Could anybody here either help me (even in some small way) learn at least a little bit of Dutch or point me to a book from which I can learn Dutch because I have had absolutely no luck around where I live. Thank you very much in advance!

You know you play too much NW when you see a line of people and imagine them in uniform and carrying muskets

A player named Voran12 voted to ban me from a server for no reason, I hadn't even spawned yet and then on another server he teamkilled me at the start of the round for no reason at all. I motion for a banning of his existence from this world and for a tar and feathering of this douchebag to be approved of.

Technical Support / Attacking and weapon equipping glitches

I have a consistent problem with my weapons not attacking but making the sound or with not being able to unsheathe my weapon. I've heard other people complain about this in chat during games and I was wondering why this happens and why it hasn't been fixed.

In Development / La Belle Alliance - A Waterloo Mod [Looking for Coder]

A B O U T   T H E   M O D

La Belle Alliance is a mod. set during the Hundred Days Campaign.
All uniforms will be converted to the proper uniforms as worn in 1815 and all non-Waterloo factions will be replaced with Waterloo-based factions. The mod will include several maps such as Waterloo, a more detailed Quatre Bras, as well as Ligny and Wavre.


W H A T   W I L L   C H A N G E ?
-Replace Austria and Russia with the Netherlands and Brunswick
-Make uniforms accurate to the 1815 campaign
-variation for the uniforms (forage caps, shako covers, etc)
-More firearms to cavalry however dragoons will retain an edge in firearm skill
-"Ammunition Supply" that can be built by sappers but only one can be built per team and they can be raided by enemies
-New units/unit replacements for UK, France, and Prussia
-New maps centered around the Hundred Days Campaign such as Waterloo, Ligny, Wavre
