So my fellow Americans, some of you have been watching the news lately and see this "government shutdown" deadline for looming. And our very intelligent elected officials are trying to find a way to stop it, so far by taking money away from Obamacare (which is useless) and wont work. What does this all mean? WELL I am sure most of you do not really care but being an adult and paying my own bills, etc.. this could mean a lot for different people. FIRST off, if you ever wanted to go to a national zoo, park, or w/e those would all be closed, also if you dont have your passport or need to renew it, you gonna have to wait a crap long time now! Oh and if you planned on getting a gun permit, the irony is that it would also probably not happen at all during the shutdown, goes the same with tobacco/alcohol, medical marijuana permits, etc.. any one that works for the government, public welfare employees etc.. will still get paid but on credit, so not direct cash until the shutdown is over.
Now on to the Obamacare deal. UNLESS you watch Fox News or have a lunatic representative as Governor, Obamacare is GOOD. In the long term healthcare costs go down, everyone is required to have healthcare, and most importantly companies are REQUIRED to provide healhcare coverage to their employees (effective by 2015). Previously if you were young and healthy a company wouldnt need to provide the costs for your healthcare, but now as long as you stay healthy the costs will be low and all companies can provide it for you. I believe providing over 40 million Americans with opportunities to obtain affordable healthcare is a good thing, even if its expensive in the short term. Now I did not vote for Obama, but I am just stating that Obamacare has more advantages than disadvantages in the long term. And I dont even get why they choose to cut Obamacare as a solution for all this lol, I think it was just one republican who wanted it.
So yea essentially congress has no way to pay their bills on time, which can effect anything related to government, this could go from shutting down national parks/zoos to shutting down other government costs such as military, to even education in the future, not to mention having to sit down more than 700,000 other government workers, thus effecting the economy making it worse, thus fking up my stock market investments.
end rant, please post below your thoughts/opinions ! I am bored so just wanted some of you guys who dont know what is really going on to sort of get a better understanding of it, as it is sorta important. Other non-americans feel free to share your opinions but make sure you have facts if you criticize what im saying ;p
