I feel like there is a conspiracy with FSE and the 15th to have people banned so that way they buy more keys to play on the server thus getting FSE extra money. Maybe it's just me  ::)
#illuminati confurmed
i was also suspecting something similar going on with betty :D

Dont mention Betty.. that little kid is thus far the only one, who ever 'seriously' sent a death threat to me.
He's lucky to be in England and I'm too lazy to do anything else, because I'm not one to call these things out to the authorities

Yea, their behaviour is not uncommon, but find it amusing how often they use the "someone else did it!" excuse.

Point of the post was to compliment the 15th and whomever might be helping them.
I hope you do realize that majority of people on this thread are banned because they joined a regiment that the 15th don't like you do know this right? I and countless others have been banned solely for joining the server......And they ban you and your regiment for something like having one member who left the 15th for your regiment. Just trying to let you know its not all "I was drunk" or "My brother did it."

Wasn't referring to any specific instance and I'm not affiliated with any regiment, nor do I know about any conflicts between them.
Only skimmed a bit through all the latest posts and do find your reaction a bit curious, yet I do not wish to engage a specific debate about this.

I've become too old to actually care about their negative behaviour, but I dont remember being so rude myself in my younger years.
Those were the years, where online gaming was only just introduced.

Also wouldn't really consider the Bots server to be for noobs, but it's a different play.
On a human siege server I tend not to go sapper/arty, because most people already picked them.. but on the 15th it's nice to try out arty, sapper works and all that.
Why so many players keep glitching earthworks is beyond me..
It's near impossible to tell someone not to do something, that is effective. (plank spam, glitching earthwork, making entries on top of walls etc)

Managed to tell 1 guy to stop glitching earthworks and only after a minute the next one comes.
The strange thing here is.. you actually need to know how to glitch them and therefor they know that it's a glitch, but they still keep using it.
I know one guy, who enjoyed playing Diablo with godmode.. and actually played like that for hours.. so some people, are beyond me

I've been on and off quite frequently. (napoleonic wars and/or the 15th bot server)
Love to see that the 15th's server seems to be serving quite well as a 'backup' server, since the popular siege servers don't seem to remain online for very long. (never bothered looking into why, maybe Stefan has server issues/financial problems)
Even when there is a popular server still online, the 15th's server still remains popular and in use.

Just wanted to post to bring a bit of positive sentiment inside the thread.
Always found it funny how many players say that they were: a) intoxicated b) a friend was using their account c) someone pretended to be him/her.
Just a mild notice.. I don't believe any of these reasons and most people probably also will not.
I do believe the intoxicated reason, but even intoxicated one should be able to restrain. (Most people can't, but that's off topic)

Also amusing to see how most players react, when a non-admin tells them the rules, but I have to admit that there are actually quite a few new players, who listen to someone, without 'power'.

That all aside, just wanted to give a quick thanks, because I've seen Cenkris/Harvain busy quite frequently and can't always be fun to do so.
Seeing The Alamo still being played is a plus ;)  (quite fun to see when there are a little too many bots and the battle is played out on the courtyard, which is more or less historically correct)

General Discussion / Re: Point Blank Rule ™

I don't understand the whole newby statement with point blank shooting.
You generally hit more easily, but when you miss (and you will), you'll have a harder time.
Saying point blank shooting is just easy, is plain wrong.
I have to say I only get 1 point blank shot opportunity each.. hm.. 90 shots?.. and I'll often switch too melee.
I do not play line battles, as I do not like squeeky kids giving orders.. don't like hearing squeeky kids anyhow.

If you forbid it for the sake of 'rules', you should also implement the rule not to stab anyone in the back.
If you forbid it, because they iz noobs.. Then you don't have a point.

Hm must say I don't really see the bigger fun in the Slenderman game mode.. I can only picture some randomly walking around, until you get touched.
In the game Slenderman, the guy actually follows a path, I think. You actually have an idea of running away/to from him. With teleporting this idea kinda gets lost.

However, would still be interested in trying it atleast once.

I did play on a zombie server once. (American based, but doable +- 100ms)
I must say it was a lot more fun than I anticipated

Servers / Re: Most kills on any server?
« on: June 24, 2013, 09:13:03 pm »
I've gotten 330 kills on a max population Bots vs Humans server, but that isn't even that unique :p
Plus I never take screenshots, glory is best celebrated in ones self and at parties.

Did get once or twice a 80+ kill streak or maybe over 100 on 84e public server, but when it's crowded and people stick in the same area's, it's not really that difficult with a mortar. ( + no trolls )

How would Slenderman work?

Very misty environment and by touch you's dead?

Regardless of the kind of request you make, please do remember the following:

Noone administrating these servers and games are paid and probably everyone volunteers to do this.
Even if you have been accused incorrectly, be decent and polite.

It is always possible wrong decisions are made, as we are all human

I applaud the initiative, though I cannot agree with eliminating lancers.

In my opinion, it's just reducing the game's diversity.
I think lancers perform pretty much the same to hussars, given the hussars are experienced versus lancers and actually know the lancers are in game.
The only thing that really gives them a boost over the others is the couching lance, which can also very often screw up the lancer himself. (couching does give easy unmounted kills, but I don't really count the unmounted as threats)

I tend to change between classes and only find the lancer most fearful, being a lancer :p
It's a different gameplay, so I can understand why you'd choose this.

Would love to see if people organise events with cavalry (only)

I cant say I approve with the "#######" in the subject, and if possible, please change that.

I do not have anything scripted at the ready, but would not mind programming a bit, when I know what is possible and if it's demanded.

I'm wondering for instance: is it possible to make server scripts in order to automatically change global server settings. (max cavalry / # bots / etc).
And is it possible to automatically administrate different teamsize ratio's? (say, 5 attackers for each 1 defender)

Been thinking about this for a while, but I just got too many things to work on to keep researching everything.

1. I dunno what you mean ( Maybe my English is too bad, I'm from germany ) :D

2. Yep I could do this. :)

1. Well, if you could turn the subject into a plain: ""Super-Server" - Ideas?", you'd make me happy.
2. The "human vs bots" server could really make good use of some automation, where there should be only 5 on the Attackers' side and 2:1 bots in comparison to the Defenders.

If the server administrators are open to this, the script should be optional & shouldn't be too strict.
Only if the differences are getting too high (say more than 10 attackers) should it act.

I do not really know if other servers need scripting, as mods include their own.

Hi there, new to the forums but been playing warband for a while!

15th Humans vs Bots has to be my most played and favorite server, but yesterday I was banned and I don't know what I did :S
I was playing under the name: Dick_Faggotson         (lol)
But anyway, I was banned but I don't know why, I'm not some generic Troll or anything, I just enjoy playing the game, any chance this could get fixed?

Thanks!

I tend to believe using such juvenile nicknames should automatically get you banned.
Grow up, use a normal name and ask again.

(not too pleased about gay trashing names, as people are not smart enough to understand it's not to be taken seriously)

This whole thing with Betty intrigues me.

I always try to understand what moves people for them to do things.
Most 'trolls' just tend to be people, yearning for attention and discovering that by negative behavior it's a lot easier to get this attention.

Other times it's because they got talked down to by their team and they feel the urge to defend themself. (M&B not that good an example, but for example Left4dead they would simply jump out a window and basically ruin the round for their team)

Also a lot of times they fail to make an impact on the game and will seek another way to make an impact, although be it a negative one.
This one is closely related to the attention argument, but this kind of player would not annoy, if they were skilled enough in the game.

Some of the people will do this multiple times or wont ever quite this behaviour.
But Betty even exceeds the most dedicated troll I've encountered.
Looking at her behavior it's almost impossible for him/her to be this annoying on purpose.

Especially if you look at the amount of keys bought and all that extra information I'm close to make the conclusion that she is mentally retarded. Seriously and not as insult.
Even for young kids this behavior is ridiculous.
So maybe it would help just to give her a little positive feedback and ignore as much as possible of his/her bad behavior. I simply do not think he/she understands..

Retard might be a definition too rough, but atleast not mentally fit.
