Off Topic / I donated most of my belongings. Did I do wrong?

I had a car, some lands and three flats in a city until two weeks ago.
Last week I donated my car, my lands and two of my flats to some charities. Now I just have "enough" and I feel better. My flat and public transportation are enough for me. I don't need the other two flats, their rental income (because I have a job), those lands which were waiting for increase in value and my car.

For a long time I postponed this. I was waiting for a socialist revolution or something.
I always wanted to make it real and dreamed of a world like this but cowardly I was waiting for others to act before me. This wasn't honest. I didn't have to wait for anything. I have the option to share.

So I made a move and donated most of my belongings. Do you thing I made a wrong decision?

Sometimes I notice some unfair actions on the forums and they really make sad. As I witnessed people often can't defend themselves against unfair actions. They can't find enough time to defend themselves and let the problem go or sometimes the source of the injustice is moderators and people don't want to defend their rights against them.

But now you don't need to afraid because TURK's Consultancy Bureau is ready to help you.

For example if you think moderator Karth is abusing his moderator powers on you and you are afraid to fight with him, bring the case to me, tell me the details and let me handle the rest of the problem for you until the justice arrives.

Community / Moderator abuse. What should I do?

As some of you know I opened a thread several days ago.

Some users made some irrelevant comments about the topic and I warned them almost after my each message.
I also reported one of the comments because it was irrelevant.

After my topic has been locked by Malakith I contacted to him with PM's but he didn't get online in last two days and then I realized something. Before this incident, he was already not active for last 50 days.

After seeing this, it was too obvious for me that Karth was contacted to his friend Malakith and made my thread get locked (censored). Otherwise how a 50 days lost moderator appears suddenly?

This isn't Karth's first power abuse on me. After he become a moderator the first warning he gave to someone was for me and it was a %50 warning and caused me to get muted. (Some moderator reduced my warning afterwards because he tought it was harsh.)
And the post which cost me %50 warning was a video made by me about someone from his regiment and it was members of his regiment who asked me to share the video on their regiment's forum thread. So if it wasn't me but someone else from his regiment, the post was still there.

I am really disturbed about this injustice and I need help.

Community / Should we change this rule?

Hello,

We have some rules. But not all of them are written on the forum rules. There are also some unwritten rules. I realized one of them about the regimental threads and thought that rule was not fair enough and maybe we could improve it and turn it into a more fair one.


Current Rule

For example

- You led a regiment for a long time but then you left it to someone else and stopped playing the game,
- You continued on writing on your ex-regiment's forum thread. Talked to your old friends or made comments on that thread.
- But then you had an argument with the regiment's new leader.
- Or he just didn't like you because you are muslim.

He has right to forbid you from posting on that thread anymore after you spent so much time and have lots of friends there or you didn't break any forum rules.

Because as I learned, regiment leaders alone have chance to allow or disallow someone write on their regiment threads anymore regardless of the time you spent on that regiment, the amount of friends you have there or etc.

And this is just up to the regiment leader. To one single individual.
It doesn't matter even if all the regiment (except the leader) wants to see you on their forum thread or you didn't break any forum rule.
(This may be a harsh example but possible with current forum rules.)

I don't believe it's fair when it's just up to one single person's choice like we live really in 19th century and he is really a regiment leader.
The current rule gives regiment leaders the option to forbid you from writing at their regiment's thread, if they just dislike you or just they are racist and don't want to see black people, jews or turks living in huts on their regiment's thread, they can forbid you to write on their regiment's forum thread regardless of obeying the forum rules.


TURK's Advice

There may be people causing troubles in some regiment's forum thread but I think the written forum rules are enough to prevent their disturbance.

- If someone trolls, insults, writes unrelated things about your thread's subject, instigates, spams or etc.

The written forum rules already prevent their disturbance.

My advise is to take this option back from the leaders of the regiments to prevent circumstances of abuse. I believe written forum rules are highly enough and democratic but I don't think it's democratic if someone has chance to forbid you writing on his thread for example just because you are black.

Napoleonic Wars Referee Banned on Steam For Cheating!


Napoleonic Wars League referee Ketchup, member of 63e regiment has been banned on steam for cheating. Ketchup, detected by Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) System didn't seem embarrassed from what he wrote on his profile information. According to rumours some teams and referees are demanding Ketchup's resignation. "We expect our referees to be reliable and honest people. I am not saying Ketchup is not, but his VAC ban record is a big question mark on his ethic values. There should be no tolerance against misbehave in this league and this issue must be investigated. While Napoleonic Wars League Federation and Referee Comission are still silent, players are in preperations for organizing campaigns and consititute a committee to discuss their ideas.

What is VAC?

If a user connects to a VAC-Secured server from a computer with identifiable cheats installed, the VAC system will ban the user from playing on VAC-Secured servers in the future.

While server admins may choose to ban specific players, server admins cannot VAC ban players. The VAC system is automated - contacting Steam Support to report cheaters is not necessary, nor will Steam Support act on any information provided.

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

Most of you know that I am in a fight with 63e regiment. Their evil activities really worries me.

A few days ago I joined one of their events secretly by changing my name into one of their absent members. (63e_SoD_Nikolai. I really used his pathetic name many times before and never got caught.) What I wanted was getting some information about their activities but a terrible thing happened and my good friend 63e_Clamydo has been demoted because of a fault of mine. I am really sad nowadays.

Dear Lady,
I suppose you wouldn't like other people to see your private pictures which are leaked on internet not on your purpose. Noone would. So I am choosing not to look at them. If this kind of disaster happens to me at the future I hope you and other people makes the same choice for my pictures or private conversations too.

When I decided to donate some money to FSE Games the first thing I asked to myself was "What if people think I am paying bribes?"
What if people think "With that high amount of money TURK is actually trying to guarentee himself in the forums and servers. Admins and moderators are going to think twice or stretch the rules before making a decision about him. Great! Justice for all! But a bit more justice for the rich."

I am in strange feelings. I don't want to influence admins and moderators. I also don't want the community think that I am a briber. Maybe I can send the money to my friend Olafson and noone knows about it except him. I will think about it.

At last they forced me to make a statement about this horrible lie. I had been hearing this nonsense for a while. In the game while people were chatting, in the sarcastic personal messages I get on forums. Yes we have a deep relationship with Olafson I am not denying it. But I have never used our friendship for my own advantage.

After I got banned on forums the first thing I did was writing a letter about my ban. I thought I was innocent. I wrote a letter consisted of eleven pages, including forum links and screenshots. (I can send my letter to people who are interested in law.) I sent my letter to authorized people but got no answers. I thought my adventures on forums were over.

"I WAS TORTURED IN SERVERS"

As I was someone banned from forums, I was not be able to apply for ban and unban on servers anymore. Some people who knew my weakness used that against me. By knowing that TURK can't open a ban thread for them, they were teamkilling and swearing at me in the servers. There was no place where I could demand justice! This torture lasted so long. I was also not be able to follow the news about the game or mods and join tournaments anymore since I wasn't be able to reach the forums.

"NEGOTIATIONS"

After 10 months passed, I thought I got enough punishment and decided to communicate with them again. So the negotiation process started. They were going well until Blobmania resigned from his job. So I had to start negotiations again with the new head moderator McEwan. I can't share the details of our deal here. But after some heated arguments we achieved to make an aggrement. After a year I was free again.

I am not making this statements for me but for that honorable man. Olafson. My good friend. I don't want people know him as someone who makes favoritism for his friends. Never! I never asked or implied it from him. So did Olafson.

"I FELT OFFENDED"

But I must say I was bit offended when I first opened my situation to him after 10 months passed from my ban and he said "Oh Turk, I can't do anything about this." without listening what will I say.
How did you think Olafson? How did you think that I was asking help for...
I just wanted you to communicate with McEwan for my situation. I felt really offended when you said that without listening me first but I also was proud of you that you didn't think about favoritism.
I needed Olafson's help just once and it was for informing McEwan that I was not be able to reach him.

I hope this statement ends all those horrible rumors.

I had been banned from forums for a year and saw terrible things. I learned what's being a banned person and decided to write about my experiences to develop emphaty for unbanned people and defend banned people's rights.



When you got ban on forum and try to enter it again you can only see the message below:
"Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum! This ban is not set to expire."
And this causes some right violations.

1- Forum banned people can't apply for ban and unban on servers anymore when they got banned from forums.

2- Forum banned people can't follow the news about the game or mods.

3- Forum banned people can't join tournaments.

I think these are violating of their rights. Getting a ban from forums shouldn't cause these.

TURK'S ADVISES, SOLUTION OPTIONS



1- Forum banned people should allowed to see forum content. Restricting their rights to share things should be enough.

2- There should be communication addresses like mails and steams of forum moderators somewhere on the forum which can be seen by banned people, so banned people can send messages to forums when necessary by moderators' helps. Like ban, unban appeals, sign ups for the tournaments or objection about claims which are being told about them.

I wanted to open this topic because a year ago I was in prison too. I wrote and sent letters to authorized people, fought for my rights, negoatiated with them and finally unbanned after a year. Now I feel I am obliged to defend other banned people's rights. Those judged or sometimes misjudged unfortunate people who you don't hear anymore. Don't worry! TURK didn't forget you after he earned his freedom!
