Troll apps will not be added, and you must answer all of the questions in the app.  Consider this your warning.  I'll try and update the op daily, other mods can update it as well.  Check the stickied threads for help.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: yes
Why should you become CR?: I am willing to keep the (competitive) scene alive, hosting EGS (and maybe more? x) ) and several tournaments for the German scene to accomplish that
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Hosting events and keeping a calm and chill atmosphere throughout

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: Yes
Why should you become CR?: I have come off my long summer break and returned to NW and am taking a much more active role especially within the regimental scene, many players within my regiment have returned to the game and I further want to replicate this across the whole regimental scene not just in the 45thN.  I did not aim to run again to be CR, however as there is a lack of choice for EU CR, I feel like it is only right for the community to get a say on two very capable candidates to represent them as opposed to just a direct coronation. As someone having previous experience in being CR in the past two years, I have a general idea of how the forum works and will continue to help administer and represent the community.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Regardless of whether I am CR or not, I plan to host a small format tournament, similar to 'The Fighting Pit' Series, for the community alongside EGS S4. Furthermore I will try to revive and stimulate the regimental community, there is no better way to do this other than increasing involvement in casual events. This'll be done by taking a more active role in the organisation of ingenuitive fresh casual events that will have a focus on being new and refreshing for many players, as stated above my main focus will be on the regimental side of the community as it is the aspect which is struggling the most, with the group fighting scene looking exciting and promising with EGS S4 around the corner. However, please do text and get in contact with me as to any ideas!

Why should you become CR?: I have already been a CR in the past from May to July 2022

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Whatever is needed from whatever remains of the North American side of the community.

Technical Support / Sound Initalisation Error
« on: June 16, 2022, 09:11:48 pm »
I get the RGL error on launch. Won't let me play at all. I have it set to go through my headset as well as teamspeak.

The only fix is I have it coming out my soundbar and then teampseak through my headset.

I've tried the swapping the RGL 0 to 1 and vice versa but still broken! Does anyone have any other fixes?

Welcome to the official post for this CR Term. My previous two terms were undoubtedly a success and I aim on achieving and doing more this term!

As like my previous term I will mainly be focussing on providing servers for all areas of the community including public servers, so please get in touch if you're looking for a server! If anyone has an idea for an event but doesn't know how to host or is stuck, please feel free to contact me and I would be more than willing to provide any assistance or advice. CR does involve some moderation responsibilities so I will be undertaking those responsibilities as well.

A CR should be approachable and as such, I will be leaving the best ways to contact me below so please feel free to contact me using any of these methods:

Servers / Airplane's Reborn!
« on: October 09, 2021, 12:26:53 am »

Airplanes was a public server that sadly died in 2017/2018 but I'm glad to announce it has returned! The original scripts have been updated and are now compatible with NW and its most recent update!  With the server being hosted in Paris and on one of the largest server boxes available, this should mean that most players would be able to enjoy a stable connection with little to no lag.

Special Thanks

Pio for making and providing the original source code!
Wüstenkrieger for modernising and updating the scripts (and for answering all my dumb questions)

General Rules
No Racism/Sexism or Homophobia
No Slurs
Don't be a dick (There is no definition of this and is totally at my discretion what this means)

Recruitment
As this is a totally public server any Regiment, Clan or Group is free to make one recruitment message per round. This includes Team Chat and All Chat. This gives all regiments a fair chance of nabbing a public player or two without favouring one or the other.

Server Reset Schedule

All times are in UK time

For anything at all please add me on steam Here

Technical Support / Server password not working in config?
« on: October 05, 2021, 09:32:07 pm »
I'm trying to set a password for a server in the config but it doesn't work. It says no password is on the server and I can join with no password. Is this the right command?

# Server Password:
set_server_pass cheese

Admin pass one works but idk this one just doesn't.

Off Topic / How To Correctly Install WSE on a Server
« on: September 19, 2021, 12:15:42 am »
Ok so apparently this is the "easy part" of installing scripts on a server? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

None of the command lines work and I'm very close to throwing either myself or my computer out the window. Still undecided on which tbh.

So my question is, how do I correctly install WSE on a server? I've read the guide, it doesn't make sense. Tried cloning a server that someone else set up with WSE and it doesn't work.

If anyone has any tips or a step by step guide on how to do it it would be very helpful :)

The Mess Hall / Roast The Person Above You
« on: September 08, 2021, 11:26:06 pm »
Title explains all, will be harmless fun. Will be a good laugh, everyone loves some cheeky forum drama.

Be as funny and creative as you like! Open to everyone basically as long as you follow the rules!

The 3 rules:

Don't violate the forum rules(no doxxing, explicit racism or anything else that will get the thread locked) Its harmless internet "banter" and shouldn't cross the line.

If you've got thin skin, don't comment. If their post doesn't violate the forum rules but it upsets you, ignore it!

Roast the person directly above you, its more fun this way.

Good Luck!

As an experiment I tried to spread the game over my 3 monitors but it kept saying "Multiple Screen Mode Disabled". Is there a way to turn this on? I tried windowed and the resolution in the start up window but it doesn't work.

I'm only curious to see if it works or not, I don't know or care about "advantages being gained"

Events: EU / 92nd Tuesday Linebattle-Looking For Cav and Lines!
« on: June 24, 2021, 11:42:29 pm »

    1. No FiC & RiC - When melee contact has been initiated all units are expected to cease their fire and cancel their reloading. Melee contact has been made when atleast one person has touched his/her opponent. Officers are allowed to fire 1 pistol cartridge in charge but are not allowed to reload in charge (this does not count for all charge!).
    2. No FoL & RoL - All units must reload and fire in formation. When lined up or positioned and taking casualties you may finish reloading and then fix the gap.
    3. No Rambo - Everybody participating in the event is expected to stay with their unit at all times. Officers & NCO's are allowed to be a small distance away from their line when scouting or glancing upon the battlefield. When a unit is 3 or less they are expected to join a friendly unit.
    4. No OA - Officer aim is forbidden for any unit (including skirmishers). In the event that an Officer does get shot, let the admin know with either a message on the steam event chat or in game. Officer aim does not count for the rank but for the unit in order to be revived, the player must have died while playing as the officer class.
Officer aim is permitted when the officer is in melee combat, standing in a formation (in the middle of a line or collumn), gets killed by cannon or other artillery pieces or when holding a musket or rifle! Intentional OA will be punished with a warning or a slay.
    5. All Charge - The all charge will be called by the admin to ensure that rounds are not dragged out for too long. The all charge will be announced by the admin atleast 30 seconds in advance. All units are expected to cease their fire and meet eachother bayonet and sword in hand. Cavalry must dismount in the all charge at all times, they are however allowed to ride towards their enemy but must dismount before taking part in melee combat.

    6. Tags - Every participant of the event must wear their respective regiment tag or they will be removed from the server by the admin.
    7. Behaviour and chat discipline - During the event all participants are expected to show respect and good behaviour to one another, whether they are an enemy or an ally! Racism, sexism and anything of the sort are not allowed! Teamkills can happen please do not retaliate and start a flame war!
    8. The admin will always have the final word - All officers and NCO's are expected to keep their unit in order and enforce the rules where necessary. In the event that the admin does have to enforce the rules, may this be a warning, a slay or a ban, do not argue with him/her! you can file your complaints on teamspeak or steam after the event, during the event the admin always has the final say in things!
    9. Attendance - When a regiment has a specialist slot reserved and fails to bring the man power for a few events in a row, they will be put as line and the specialist spot will be given to someone else.
    10. Assaulting and garrisoning buildings - When occupying a building or compound the following rules apply: "all units may fire in charge, all units may reload in charge, all units may take cover and crouch, the unit may break formation within the building".
When assaulting a occupied building or compound the following rules apply: "all units may fire in charge but only upon the unit that is occupying the building, all units may reload in charge, unit may break formation inside the building".
Depending on the event and map, the admin can ban the use of buildings & compounds, the admin may also request an unit to leave a building or compound.
