These rankings have been made by mainly me however. I have discussed the rankings with a number of players in order to try to reach an accurate judgement. The rankings take into account a combination of general opinion and recent eating performances. Every list is in descending order, excluding the three last one.

OVERVIEW
 
This thread has been made in order to summerize and classify the best european players of 2020, according to their performances, their skills, their titles and mainly (for now) : my opinion.
I have made this list without the opinion of anyone in order to avoid all form of "bias".
I'm planning to update this list till the 31st of December. Once 2021 reached, I won't update it anymore.
Feel free to give your opinion as long as it is pertinent, maybe you will convince me.

 

Python                          About him Description :   The indisputable best player of 2020, and arguably one of the best NW has ever witnessed. Python for the last year has solidified himself as the top 1 player in the opinion of most people within the competitive community. Known for his impossible blocks, his deadly chambers, his hypnotising footwork and his lightning fast team play, he has a complete skill set and a pleasant aggressive play style. He has also shown a strong talent for leading, creating a noticeable success out of his own team "The Ennead" early on in the year, who managed to dominate for almost the entire time they were active. Understandably this had lead to Python winning many titles, titles which he no doubt deserves, notably the NWWC 2020 or the EAP 700€ Tournament which are two of the most notorious competitions of 2020. ExtaZz94                        About him Description :   Unarguably the most regular and constant player of the decade. No one would have thought that ExtaZz would impress us another year. Yet, in 2020, the oven was still hot. After a slow and fragile year-beginning still accompanied with some success, ExtaZz quickly cameback by first merging his team, the ToxicityZero, with one of the strongest team of that time : ProudBoys, then carrying and winning in chain most of the tournaments. If he failed to claim NWWC 2020's title, he surely won several other titles, notably the ENWC 2020. In a constant duel for the top with Python, no one could pretend to reach them. ExtaZz not only imposed himself as one of the best groupfighters, but also imposed himself as being the best duellist of the year. Despite some inactivity due to his life lately, he still is at the top. Notable performances in 2020 :   ENWC 2020 w/ Team France M. One of the key player if he isn't the main player of the Proud Boys. He is important either as a player or as a leader, he kept performing very well in both regimentals and groupfightings competitions. Shadey earned many titles in 2020, he took his revenge on Rune and Louis and won the 2v2 title, but also the 3v3 title. Those easily prove that he deserves the title of the best actual teamplayer of Napoleonic Wars. Shadey never disappointed his mate since he is an extremly reliable, constant and solid performer. Notable performances in 2020 :   7v7 "The Short Notice" w/ PB Python's 2v2 Tournament w/ Elsse Le Pitchovina 3w3 MK.VI w/ EwoKhanat M. 4    DOMI                        About him Description :   Whenever and wherever he played, DOMI has always been considered as a great player. Without a doubt, 2020 was overloaded for DOMI. With a failed attempt to grab some titles with the Olympians notwithstanding his performances, DOMI quickly managed to recover the first months of the year by winning some impressive titles such as the NWWC 2020 and established a short but undisputed domination within the OldGuard team. DOMI performed in every formats, from the little ones such at the 3v3 that he won with MC_WICKED, to the giant 10v10 like the RMT where he even got a third impressive place with the 18th. The year passed and, nowadays, no one is able not to consider DOMI as being part of the top 10. Notable performances in 2020 :   The Fighting Pit - 3v3 w/ MC_Wicked NWWC 2020 w/ Team England SET MK.1 | 5v5 w/ OldGuard Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent ranger + Excellent chamberer + Excellent footwork and glitches that is one of the only masterizing these + Great teamplayer + Good blocker [close] 5    Zeyden                        About him Description :   2020's revelation. Before 2020, only a few people were knowing Zeyden existence. The fact is, that he is an "hard-worker", he was trying to make himself a name within the competitive community since some months already, maybe even a year. In 2020, he brilliantly succeeded. He completly reformed himself by leaving his comfort zone and by reworking his play style. He found himself new teammates aside ExtaZz and a new team. Zeyden is directly implicated in the titles that TZ0 won from March to July, carrying most of them, overperforming most of them, far from brainlets expectations. Even if we can't deny the work of a whole team, he was a great actor in dismantling the Animals mercenary-made team during the MightyPaiN's 8v8 Groupfighting. If the NWWC 2020 can be considered as a big failure, he redeemed himself by winning the ENWC 2020. Notable performances in 2020 :   MightyPaiN's 8v8 Groupfighting w/ Animals ENWC 2020 w/ Team France M. Tournaments | 5v5 with 2 Swords w/ TZ0 Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent ranger and spammer + Great chamberer + Great blocker + Great footwork + Good teamplayer + Decent kicker - Reliability ? - Experience [close] 6    Ivan                        About him Description :   A great player, the fake master, extremly complete skillset. It would be crazy to put Ivan lower than sixth, because he would probably have been higher if had the time to play. Despite that, Ivan achieved a respectful amount of things in 2020. He was part of the OldGuard domination, and was a key player of the Poosy short-dominant era. Many people are impressed by Ivan's playstyle, it is indeed special and unique. Well known as being one of the best first-picker in NW, he excels in many more areas. Nine times out of ten, Ivan will be the one unlocking the situation with a stunning pick coming out of nowhere. And as a top player should do, you can rely on Ivan no matter the format, excelling in 2v2 as in 9v9. That is why Ivan is an extremly complete player.   Notable performances in 2020 :   The Fighting Pit - 3v3 w/ MC_Wicked M. Tournaments | 5v5 Randomised w/ ESL SET MK.1 | 5v5 w/ OldGuard Qualities and Weaknesses : + Best fakes and switches + Excellent ranger, one of the best first picker in the game + Excellent chamberer + Excellent footwork and glitches that is one of the only masterizing these + Inventive and cunning + Great teamplayer + Good blocker - Activity - Patience - Trolly [close] 7      Golden                        About him Description :   Impressive and confident. This year, Golden did Golden's things. He played the whole year with Proud Boys (then Proud Boys x TZ0). Pretty much all the time, he was trying to make his team stay at the top, even during their darkest hours. Despite his borderline behaviour (sometimes), you can find in Golden a carry and a skilled player. He is mostly known for his range and his calculated aggressive playstyle, which are frequently leading him to pick someone. He is undoubtedly talented to catch people off guard. He is more than just a "good" player overall, since he consistently performs some top-notch quick blocks and tricky glitches. Notable performances in 2020 :   7v7 "The Short Notice" w/ PB M. Tournaments | 5v5 (August) w/ PB M. Tournaments | 5v5 with 2 Swords w/ TZ0 Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent ranger, stunning picks + Great blocker + Great chamberer + Good glitches and feints + Good footwork + Good teamplayer - Patience - Maybe too confident ? [close] 8      Troister                        About him Description :   Reliable, smart, technical, confident and simply dazzling. This is a pure pleasure to play by the side of Troister, absolutely no one can contest it. Despite his activity, as soon as Troister comes for a tournament, you are doubtlessly sure that he will be reliable. Playing for many, many years, Troister is one of those that still say at the top, regular and constant, with some unexpected outperformances coming out of nowhere. He has achieved staggering things in 2020, such as reaching the 2nd place at the NWWC 2020 against all odds with France 2. I, without a doubt, consider him as being one of the best teamplayer in the game. If you recognize him in 1v2, you know you won't last long. Though he is one of the foremost teamplayers, he remains dangerous at range and surprising at blocking. He can play either aggressive or defensive, for him it doesn't matter. In most of the team he was in, even the top ones, he surely was one of the key player if he wasn't the key player. Notable performances in 2020 :   ProudBoys' Own ~ 7v7 Tournament w/ Cazadores NWWC 2020 w/ Team France 2 "Le Pitchovina" 7w7 MK.V w/ Poosy Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent teamplayer, maybe the second best + Great ranger + Great feints + Great blocker + Good chamberer + Good footwork + Patience - Compromised connection - Activity [close] 9      Wolpi                        About him Description :   Lethal, dangerous. Without a doubt the spine of the Cazadores. He imposes himself as the best player of this team, making everything in order to make them stay at the top, and that, since Cazadores reformed, last february. Wolpi always has been considered as a threat, he is extremly agressive and somehow still surprise the best players with his baneful stabs. He is an extremly talented picker and ranger. Furthermore, he chambers back everything and his chambers are barely counterable, he blocks like a king, even during the desperate situations. Wolpi has been really impressive during the NWWC 2020, he was always at the top, always finding a kill. He is a great groupfighter, but also a great duellist. Notable performances in 2020 :   ProudBoys' Own ~ 7v7 Tournament w/ Cazadores NWWC 2020 w/ Team Germany 1 European Tour - International 7vs7 w/ Cazadores Qualities and Weaknesses : + Great ranger, picker + Great blocker + Great chamberer + Decent teamplayer + Smash his desk like a god - Gamesense - Reliability - Patience [close] 10      Tibérias                        About him Description :   Legend. Yes, despite the fact that he is now inactive, we can't get out of our mind the fact that he dominated the first part of the year. As I said upper, and for most of the people I assume, Tibérias is simply a legend. As long as he was playing, he always maintained himself at the top. He is a very skilled player, either as a groupfighter or a duellist. He predicts a lot of thing and you can be sure that he knows why he is going that direction or why did he stab at that exact moment. He is also one of the best teamplayers, if he plays along Troister, then you are seriously in trouble. His kicks are brutals, he can kick you a few times in a match that you won't expect any of those. He is trully a carry, moreover he is solid and reliable. Notable performances in 2020 :   ProudBoys' Own ~ 7v7 Tournament w/ Cazadores M. Tournaments | 5v5 with 2 Swords w/ Poosy "Le Pitchovina" 7w7 MK.V w/ Poosy EAP 700€ Tournament - 5v5 w/ OldGuard Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent teamplay + Excellent gamesense + Best kicker ? + Great ranger + Great chamberer + Good blocker + Patience + Reliable - Activity [close] 11      Marquez                        About him Description :   Hola, me conoces, soy el Famoso. Marquez is a brilliant picker, someone that can mix between passive and aggressive. He will go aggro when you don't expect it and surprise you with a lethal stab. This year, Marquez had some up and down, but he still stayed at the top. During the OldGuard domination, Marquez was probably at his peak. Slaying everyone in front of him. Facing him and Python was trully hard. Again, another teamplayer, another great teamplayer. The "Python's 2v2 Tournament" can easily witness Marquez's teamplay, tournament in which one he managed to reach the second place. Moreover, Marquez shines a lot in the regimentals format, always at the top of the scoreboard. However, in the "normal" groupfightings formats, sometimes I feel l ike Marquez is a bit of a coinflip, either he destroys everything, either he doesn't succeed, only sometimes though. After having played in The Ennead, OldGuard, Cazadores and now GodsHand, you can be sure that Marquez nobbled many titles that he surely deserves. Notable performances in 2020 :   7v7 "The Short Notice" w/ PB EAP 700€ Tournament - 5v5 w/ OldGuard Python's 2v2 Tournament w/ Python RMT 10v10 w/ 92nd Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent teamplay + Great ranger + Great blocker + Great chamberer + Great footwork + Good kicker + Patience - 50/50 - Predictable ? - Recent activity [close] 12      Rune                        About him Description :   A wall. Rune is annoying to play against, since it will be really hard to kill him. I mean, his blocks are incredibles and sometimes, if it ever happens that you lose patience, he will gently stunchamber you. He is definitely a solid player, extremly patient, he contributed a lot in Proud Boys wins this year. If you rarely see him top score, you can be sure that he will never disappoints you tho. Especially if you play his side, he is a great support. I think his play style goes well with his mentality, calm, cool, confident and solid. Notable performances in 2020 :   7v7 "The Short Notice" w/ PB M. Tournaments | 5v5 (August) w/ PB Python's 2v2 Tournament w/ Louis Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent teamplay + Excellent blocking + Great chamberer + Good kicker + Decent range + Patience + Reliable - Activity ? [close] 13      Higen                        About him Description :   Insane. Well, I trully would like to looks surprised, however I'm not. Since I am playing to this game I ever felt that Higen deserved more recognition. I always felt like he was underrated. Before 2020, he wasn't having a lot of free-time in order to play. But "thanks to" the lockdown, it appeared that Higen had way more free-time. After having succeeded in the NWWC 2020 with some incredible plays, he joined the JediMasters, and thanks to Melsyo and Kraz's trust, Higen finally had the chance to play in a great team. Higen is litteraly insane, he is extremly solid and confident. He is well-known for his mind-blowing blocks, one of the only able to block more than two stabs a few times in a row, but now Jedis players can also guarantee that he is a great teamplayer. Don't forget that he is originally a duellist, his chambers are deadly and his kicks are close to be as good as Tiberias's one. Notable performances in 2020 :   NWWC2020 w/ Team France 2 ENWC2020 w/ Team France M. Tournaments | PTK | w/ Jedis Qualities and Weaknesses : + Best blocker of the game + Excellent kicker + Great chamberer + Great teamplayer + Good ranger + Patience - Activity - Footwork a bit outdated ? [close] 14      Lonedoge                        About him Description :   Simply good, the inferiority king. Lonedoge accompanied Jedi Masters during their ascension to the top. He is now without a doubt a key player of this team. He is a reliable teammate so far (if he doesn't troll), someone easy to play with. He doesn't have a complicated play style, yet, he will turn your mind around if you have to 2v1 him, or even 3v1 him. He is definitely annoying to play against, he will attack you with some tricky stabs and fakes. His strongest point remains his blocking, if he really wants it, he will turn himself into the turtle mode and then, you won't be able to kill him at all, his quick blocks drive you crazy. He is surely one of the few that I regret of not having played that much with. Notable performances in 2020 :   M. Tournaments | PTK | w/ Jedi Masters EIS: Smylie & Maskman Edition 7v7 w/ Jedi Masters "Le Pitchovina" 7w7 MK.V w/ Jedi Masters Qualities and Weaknesses : + Excellent blocking + Great blocking + Good chamberer + Good kicker + Good ranger + Patience - No microphone [close] 15      Bagins                        About him Description :   "The art of war is the art of deception." Bagins definitely deserves a place in this top. Even if he played only a few months that year, the ease with what he was dominating the competitive scene cannot be forgotten. He can simply be the best ranger of the game if he wants to. He is literally the only person i do not want to face at his apogee. As I said, he is an excellent ranger, can be the best, he is also complete, able to quick block, feint, glitch, fake, kick and way more stuff. He is moving and destabilizing in front of his enemies as Bonolenov in Hunter x Hunter. If he was active, he would have surely been placed higher within this list.   Notable performances in 2020 :   NWWC2020 w/ Team England "Le Pitchovina" 7w7 MK.V w/ Poosy M. Competitive EU Events/Tournaments / EAP 6v6 Tournament | 1st. Toxicity Zero | 2nd. Cazadores | 3rd. Mage Guild

Welcome to Elsse And Python (EAP) new tournament thread. This tournament follows on from the recents 4v4 and 5v5 tournaments hosted which happened the 8th of March then the 5th of April. Watching the large number of teams showing up and the high level displayed by many players, we obviously were highly interested in capitalizing on the community’s interest by organizing another tournament.
The tournament will be hosted on Sunday the 19th of April at 20:00BST. Roster edit deadline is set for the same day as 16:00GMT. The tournament will be played in the 6v6 format. Teams will have to fight their way through a group-stage, followed by a single knockout-stage, in order to reach that sought-after trophy.

Every team must read the following rules as they are very important and EAP rules are differents compared to normal tournaments.
We were kind of disappointed by seeing that even some captains didn't even read the rules. Please, read it all.

Roster Rules - Roster limit is set to 9 players per teams. - Players MUST sign up with their community names in addition to roleplay names. Both MUST be specified - Roster edit deadline is set at 4:00pm (16:00) GMT the same day (Sunday the 19th of April). After that, not a single change will be allowed. [close]

General Rules - Melee speed will be set on medium. - The only class allowed is the line infantry. - You aren't allowed to spawn if you are not playing. - All matches will be ft5, apart from the semi-finals (ft7) and the final (ft10). - A good behaviour is expected. Insulting/toxicity will lead to 1 warning then a suspension from matches. - Cheating once will result in a permanent ban of Elsse and Python's tournaments. - Same Faces in a team are NOT allowed. - ID MUST be provided, if not, players with ID's missing won't be allowed to play. It can result in a temporary ban or even more. [close]

Match Rules - Once a match has been called, each team has ~5 minutes to get ready. - If the first round is not started within ~5 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents. - After each round, each team has ~2 minutes before they must have typed 'r' again. - If the next round is not started within ~2 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents. -The rules above are controlled by the referee - if the referee says ~5 or ~2 minutes is up, then the time is up. -If there is clear delaying in a duel at the end of a round after 2 minutes then a warning to the fight will be given. If the player continues to delay or run from the duel then the admin can slay the player. -Once typed 'r' and the referee has said 'go', the round CANNOT be voided. -In any case of a server crash/map change if it is to happen, then all current rounds WILL be VOIDED. -tiebreaks will be; 1- points (rounds scored); 2 - wins vs tied opponents. Welcome to our thread, this tournament is the outcome of a brand new alliance between Elsse and Python in order to make some regular tournaments, hopefully this first tournament that we organise won't be the last.
This tournament will be a standard 4v4 tournament. There will be a group-stage followed by a single knockout stage. According to the fact that this is a 4v4, the roster limit is fixed to 5 players per teams (can be changed). The tournament will take place the 8th of March at 8pm GMT.

Roster Rules - Roster limit is set to 5 players per teams. - Players have to sign up with their community names. - Roleplay or custom names are allowed only if they are indicated in the sign-up. - Roster edit deadline is set at 7pm GMT the same day (8th of March). After that, not a single change will be allowed. [close]

General rules - Melee speed will be set on medium. - The only class allowed is the line infantry. - You aren't allowed to spawn if you are not playing. - All group stages matches will be ft5. Then semi-finals will be ft7 and the final ft10. - A good behavior is awaited. - Cheating once will result in a permanent ban of Elsse and Python's tournaments. - ID MUST be provided, if not, players with ID's missing won't be allowed to play. It can result in a temporary ban or even more. [close]

If one of the following rules isn't respected, then the admins are in the right of :
- Don't allow a player to play.
- Don't let a team play.
- Ban someone, either temporary (one tournament for example) or permanently.
