Introduction

Hello everyone! Once again, I have decided to rehost The Napoleonic Wars Champions League! If you want to compete, fill out the player sign-up template listed below.

NWCL S3 will aim to have a League 1 and League 2 again, the same as in S2. This means that each team will have a subsequent League 1 and League 2 team/roster, each with their own group stage and bracket. The idea for having a League 2 is to promote playing time for all players, and to make a competitive environment where players are able to sign up, play, have fun, and improve. The explanation on how this will all work is explained in detail below, as well as, in the ruleset.

League Format and Draft Info

Players will not be assigned to League 1 or League 2 beforehand. Instead, there will be one large player pool going into the draft night. On draft night, the captains for each team will draft a League 1 roster and a League 2 roster. There will be a cutoff for League 1 rosters (this number will depend on sign-ups), and the League 2 draft will start at the beginning of the next round. League 1 and League 2 teams each have their own league to compete in with separate brackets. Each League 2 team will still act as subs for their respective League 1 team, and therefore, can still play for their League 1 team. League 1 players are not allowed to play in League 2, even if it is for their underlying League 2 team.

The specific format for each league (4v4, 5v5, etc.) and the number of teams is really dependent on how many sign-ups there are. However many sign-ups we get, we will try to make it work to where everyone gets slotted into a team.

Captaincy
Captains will be selected from the players who showed interest in their sign-up application, and selection will then further be based upon experience, availability, and non-toxic attitude.

Teams will have one overall captain for their League 1 and League 2 rosters. However, the players who expressed they would take a leadership role in League 2 in their player app will be made available to the captains during the draft night. The goal is that the captains can pick a player who stated they will help captain the League 2 roster. The overall/draft captain is still responsible for assisting their subsequent League 2 team, and making sure matches are played each week for their League 1 and League 2 players.

Introduction

Hello everyone! I have decided to rehost The Napoleonic Wars Champions League! This time around, Season 2 will not only be a new competitive draft league for the community, but it will also incorporate a new idea to involve more players in the community. If you want to compete, fill out the player sign-up template listed below.

NWCL S2 will have teams assembled by a captain via a standard draft night, but each team has 2 subsequent teams (a League 1 team and a League 2 team) below it and they run at the same time. Each team will have a League 1 and League 2 team/roster, each with their own group stage and bracket. The idea for having a League 2 is to promote playing time for all players and to make a competitive environment where players are able to sign up, play, have fun, and improve. The explanation on how this will all work is explained in detail below, as well as, in the ruleset.

League Format and Draft Info

To briefly try to explain the overall format, we will not be assigning players to League 1 or League 2 beforehand. Instead, there will be one large player pool going into the draft night. The captains for League 1 will then do a normal draft and fill their rosters. We anticipate League 1 to be a 5v5 with 7 teams, meaning the League 1 draft will fill to and stop at 35 players, counting the captains as well. Once the last round ends and the last player has been picked, we will move immediately into the League 2 draft. The League 1 captains will still be picking for the League 2 draft as they are making their subsequent League 2 team. The League 2 team will act as subs for their respective League 1 team, and therefore, can play for their League 1 team only. But League 2 teams will also have their own league going on as well. League 1 players are not allowed to play in League 2, even if it is their underlying League 2 team. Based on the format and likeliness of a lot of sign-ups, the League 2 teams and format could be bigger than League 1. Since there is no limit or cutoff like in the League 1 draft, we are going to make the numbers to where hopefully everyone who was not selected in the League 1 draft, gets on a team in League 2. League 2 teams will also need subs and this will be taken into account as well. Again, the specific format is really dependent on how many sign-ups there are from the beginning. However many sign-ups we get, we will try to make it work to where everyone gets slotted into a team.

As an example, if we have a total of 70 sign-ups, League 1 will have its draft first and a total of 35 players will be picked, including the captains already on the team. The remaining 35 players will then be the pool for the League 2 draft. So in this situation with 7 teams and to account for League 2 sub slots, League 2 would be a 4v4 format with each team having 1 sub, which equals the remaining 35 players. Again, League 1 has their entire League 2 team to act as their subs. However if there are more sign-ups, then more players will be left over for the League 2 draft. Thus, the team size format might change given how many people initially sign-up and how the distribution would plan out to League 1 and League 2.

League 1
League 1 will be a 5v5 format starting with a single group stage for teams, with every team playing each other once, leading into a single elimination playoff bracket to determine the winner. 4 teams will advance to playoffs. League 1 matches will be a best of 3 maps with each map being a best of 30 rounds.

League 2
League 2 will also be a 5v5 format starting with a single group stage for teams, with every team playing each other once, leading into a single elimination playoff bracket to determine the winner. 4 teams will advance to playoffs. League 2 matches will be a best of 3 maps with each map being a first to 10 rounds.

Captaincy
Captains will be selected from the players who showed interest in their sign-up application and selection will then further be based upon experience, availability, and non-toxic attitude. Although we will not be deciding the League 2 captains beforehand like League 1, the players who have expressed they would be willing to take a leadership role in League 2 in their player app will be made available to the captains. The goal is that during the League 2 draft, the League 1 captains will eventually pick a player who has stated they will help lead and captain the League 2 team they are on. This is to help assist the League 1 captains so that the hopeful League 2 captain can do their own match scheduling and help run the League 2 team. However, League 1 captains still need to assist their subsequent League 2 team and make sure matches are played each week for their League 1 and League 2 players.

Introduction

Hello everyone! The The Napoleonic Wars Champions League is a new competitive draft league for the community. If you want to compete, fill out the player sign-up template listed below.

NWCL will be a standard groupfighting league where teams will be assembled by a team captain via an auction draft night. This league will be a 5v5 format starting with a single group stage for teams, with every team playing each other twice, leading into a single elimination playoff bracket to determine the winner. The amount of teams will be dictated by how many players sign up.

Draft Info

Captaincy
Captains will be selected from the players who showed interest in their sign-up application and selection will then further be based upon experience, availability, and non-toxic attitude.

Money System
All players who signed up will be given a price which will be based on skill. Player prices will be put on the thread, but it is mainly for the captains as they will need it to prepare for the draft. All captains will be given a large amount of fantasy money to buy players during the auction draft night. All captains will be given the same amount of money, but they will have to deduct their own base price from their starting money pool. Therefore, each captain might have different starting money for the draft based on their own individual price.

Draft Night
Each round there will be five players that were randomly selected from the player pool. Captains will then privately tell the head admin/draft host who they desire to pick from those five players in the round. A team captain does not have to pick anyone in the round and can pass on all five players if they choose to do so. After each captain has given their choice to the host, they will either get that player for their base price if no other captain has selected that player; or they will go into a bidding war for that player if at least one captain has selected the same player as them. The specific captains that are bidding will be kept private until after the bidding war has finished. For bidding, captains will again privately send the host their best offer (starting with that player’s base price) and after the host has received all offers will update the captains on the highest offer they received. The captain(s) who did not give the highest offer can either continue to bid or withdraw. This process will repeat until every captain except one has withdrawn and that captain will keep the player for the last highest offer they sent. Players who were in the round but not picked/bidded on will go back into the player pool and can still be randomly drawn.

This will be the process for each round and captains are required to fill five man rosters, but they have the choice of either having one or two subs. After the draft has finished, all non-picked players will be put into a free agency pool and can be acquired later by captains. Please view the ruleset document below for more information.

NORTH AMERICAN REGIMENTAL GROUPFIGHTING LEAGUE
SEASON 2

Information:

Welcome to the North American Regimental Groupfighting League! RGL is a melee only league where regiments go head to head to fight for the RGL Champions title. Sign up your regiment if you wish to compete!

This league will be hosted by NA_Groupfighting. All matches will be done on the NA_GF server.

Start Date:

July 5th.

League Format:

We are planning to have two leagues (League 1 and League 2) just like RGL Season 1. Leagues are for sorting regiments by skill to make it fair and competitive for all regiments who sign up. In both leagues, regiments will play every opposing regiment in their own league (regular season), and after the regular season we will have a playoffs. The top regiments from League 1 will get a spot in the playoff bracket; and the bottom regiments of League 1 and the top regiments of League 2 will fight for a spot in the playoff bracket. The league sizes and number of regiments that advance to the playoffs is dependent on how many regiments sign up. Regular season matches will be ft15 and playoff matches will be ft20. Regiments play one match a week.

Rules (may change):

1. Melee only, meaning bayonets only. No shooting.

2. Line infantry only.

3. No spamming chat.

4. No hacking/cheating.

5. Regular season matches will be first to 15. Playoff matches will be first to 20.

6. Each player can only play for one regiment in RGL. Bringing mercs or being apart of multiple regiments in the league is not allowed. Each regiment must submit a roster with GUIDs before the league starts. Rosters will be locked mid season.

7. Matches will be played once every week and each match must have an approved referee. Rounds will be live when the referee says "Go" after both regiments have declared themselves ready by typing "Ready" or "R." If a regiment does not type "R" one minute after the round starts, the referee will say "Go" and the round will be live. (Note: regiment leaders can ask for a pause if there is an issue during the match they need to discuss with the ref(s) or organizers).

8. Regiments must field a minimum of 10 players. If a regiment is unable to field 10 players, they must play as if they had 10 players or forfeit the match. The opposing regiment is still allowed to field up to 10 players.

9. Personal attacks and general toxicity will not be tolerated.

10. Respect your opponents and the referees/organizers. Referees and organizers will use common sense throughout the tournament, their calls count, so respect their decisions.

Servers / NA_Groupfighting
« on: May 03, 2020, 05:33:22 am »

NA_Groupfighting was remade to hopefully provide a server for people to simply groupfight on. There is not a current groupfight server for NA and with Bannerlord needing some work that might take some time, I decided to make a server for the community.

1. Melee only. No shooting.
2. Line infantry only.
3. No delaying.
4. No faking AFK.
5. No staying back to be the last man alive.
6. No spamming chat.
7. No teamwounding or teamkilling purposefully.
8. No excessive fist fighting.
9. No impersonating.
10. No double spawning.
11. No hacking/cheating.
12. Using slurs is allowed as long as it's not said in a harmful manner or used excessively. Do not use a slur in your name.
13. Recruiting is allowed. However, you may only send one recruitment message a map.
14. Personal attacks and general toxicity will not be tolerated. Friendly and general banter is perfectly fine.
15. If an admin tells you to do something, do it! Do not disrespect admins.

Admin applications can be found below. If you wish to become an admin, use the application below. Admin positions are to be taken very seriously and it is important you act mature and enforce the rules at all time. This is to ensure the server is being used for what it was made for.

The North American Napoleonic Wars League would not have made it this far if it were not for the efforts of the people who ran it before us. We must properly credit these people. Tico, Jackie Chan and Zzehth first began the intitiative to reinvigorate the competitive side of the North American community with Season 1. The latter two carried that enthusiasm through to the end of Season 4, with help from Karth in Season 4. Cheeseypants took over Season 5, with Windflower seeing it to completion. Season 6 was headed up by SintraBean in a time of uncertainty, initially with the help of Nathan. Season 7 was planned and directed by Amit; and AsianP took the task of Season 8, with Risk and RussianFury taking over early in the season. Throughout all seasons of NANWL, there were numerous moderators and referees that freely offered their time to help with the monumental task of running this event. It must not go unstated how much work those individuals put in. Without them, the seasons would have stalled.

To make this event meaningful, we cannot forget the achievements of past winners either, and the participation of numerous regiments. Without their support and attendance, this event would not have thrived for 8 seasons.

    Tournament Ruleset

The current ruleset is once again being revised this year to make all the rules fair, consistent and leave the rules objective for the referees to enforce properly. A few rules have been changed by the moderation staff listed below.

GUID Registration and Steam ID registration is being implemented this year. It is the responsibility of the regiment leaders to send their rosters with their player's GUIDs and Steam IDs via the google form provided. The purpose of the google form is to make it easier to submit rosters with the correct information.

It is the responsibility of the regiment leaders to inform their members of the rules. The Season 9 revised ruleset is now open for discussion:

    Staff Requirements

Moderators may have some management duties and referees will be required to perform some administrative duties, as well.

The head admin and board of moderators will discuss and vote on issues that are both deemed important by ourselves and brought to us by the community. You can be sure that from our end, we will do everything we can to accommodate your concerns. The job of referees remains largely the same as before, but some refs may be asked to take on more responsibility if the need arises.

    Staff Expectations

Moderator:  Responsible for discussing and voting on all important NANWL matters. Some mods will assist the head admin with managing rosters and sign-ups. May also referee if necessary.
Referee:     Responsible for administrating matches on the official NANWL servers, verifying rosters during match prep time and recording scores on the thread and TeamSpeak after battles.

    Staff Selection
Selection of moderators and referees will be based upon three factors:
    • Good, non-toxic attitude.
    • Experience and availability.
    • Record of service in the previous season is valued, but not required.

    Registration & Application Templates

Regiment sign-ups closed on May 4th. Referee Sign-ups are open.

Season Start Date: May 11th, 2019

All regiments must provide a roster of the members, with their GUIDs and Steam IDs, that they intend to play in the event. Make sure that the list that you submit to us is up to date at the start of the season. It may be easiest to submit your entire roster to avoid conflicts popping up later. Players joining the roster while the season is in progress may be subject to match restrictions depending on their status prior to joining.

No more "last minute" adding players to your roster before an official match.
If you wish to add new players to your roster it must been done at least 1 hour before the start of the match.

Copy and paste the respective template to a new reply and fill in the information.

Competitive NA Events/Tournaments / The NW Smite League $60 Prize
    « on: May 30, 2018, 05:54:21 am »
    The NW Smite League

    Introduction

Hi AP0C inspired me to do this, so here we go. Doing a Smite Tournament for the peeps of NW. Hopefully we can get enough teams to do this (at least 6 teams for my plan). Grab some friends and make a team! $60 Prize for 1st Place.

Sign-ups close and league starts on Friday, June 8th. Matches can start being played then.

    Rules

    1. Players and teams signed up must be in NW and play NW.
    2. Game mode will be 3v3 Joust (custom game). Therefore, team rosters will have 3 players with a max of 2 subs allowed. You can only play the people on your roster.
    3. To make this happen, it will obviously have to be custom games to have teams play each other. If your team is up to play next anyone can host the custom game, but must follow these rules. Joust map, 3v3 mode, starting level 3, 1500 gold start, draft - 6 bans (3 bans per team), specs allowed, everything else normal settings.
    4. There will be a group stage followed up by a playoffs stage. All teams will be in the same group and play each other twice. The goal is to have 6 teams so 4 teams will advance to the playoffs stage for a single elimination tournament. Semi-finals and Finals will be bo5.*If more teams sign up this is subject to change to allow more teams to advance.
    5. Teams should be able to play several matches in a week. I'm not going to set a limit or anything, but I don't want this to last all summer and do 1 match per week. I know people do many games of Smite in 1 night so get in touch with the other teams you need to play and get those matches done. For the group stage matches, they do not need to be played in any particular order. Try to have your team on after NW events and aim to get multiple matches done in 1 night if possible. When we get to the playoffs stage, the set/series (semi-finals and finals bo5) are to be played in 1 night.
    6. Report matches on the thread and to me. Always take a screenshot after the match. If someone DCs during the match, it can be replayed or put on pause until the player comes back.
    7. No cheating or using players not on your roster.
    8. Have fun and good luck!

If you are participating, please add me on steam. You can add me here.

    Introduction

This tournament will serve to see a match-up of old gen players vs new gen players, and to see who will come out on top! I thought of this idea and it would probably bring up some fun and possibly some banter at the same time. I welcome people in the community to sign up so we can see who is better.

    Layout

We will face off in 3 Rounds: a groupfight, linebattle, and a ft7 duel at the end. The winner is declared by how many points the team has at the end of the tournament. As people sign up, the teams will get to pick their leader or captain, and an assistant captain, to lead them in all 3 rounds. Round and point descriptions are listed below.

Now, I trust that people will be honest and put down the right choice. However, if an issue does come up with old gen or new gen, I will consult some older players and we can determine to see if they are old or new gen accordingly. Now I have talked to Godfreid and we agreed upon (and what most of the community views) that an old gen is a player that started/played in 2011-2013, and a new gen player is a player that started/played in 2014-2017. Basically, if you mainly played, were in the community, or the bulk of your career...you get the point... whatever time frame above you started playing NW then you are old or new gen player respectively.

Round 1 - Team vs Team Groupfight:
    Rules
For the team vs team groupfight, everyone on both teams will be brought in to do a first to 20 group fight match. Each round won counts as 1 point.
    [close]

Round 2 - Team vs Team Linebattle:
    Rules
For the team vs team linebattle, everyone on both teams will be brought in to do a best of 10 linebattle. NWL rules will apply (no OA, no FoC, No FoL, No RoL, Line Infantry only etc). Each round won counts as 2 points.
    [close]

    Round 3 – Duel:
    Rules
For this part of the tournament, both teams will put up one player who they think is worthy to fight in a traditional ft7. Each round won counts as 3 points.
