 | Dear Friends of the NW Cavalry Community, To our great delight has the recent Cavalry Fantasy League not only led to a renewal of enthusiasm of veteran cavalry players into the game, but also provided a perfect opportunity for more unexperienced players to get used to the competitive cavalry scene. Realising that the upcoming second season of the Hussar Cup can only be turned into a success if we keep this current spirit of enthusiasm within the cavalry community alive, we hereby intent to organise another tournament. While recent tournaments were mainly focused on teamplay, we decided to organise a tournament that will completely emphasise on the personal quality of each cavalry player. The pure 1v1 skill of each cavalry player hasn’t been measured in a proper and competitive way since His Majesty's Hussar Class Cavalry Tournament hosted by Troyard in May 2018 (And for the more veteran players the never finished Napoleonic Wars V1V1T Tournament hosted by Vince in May 2016.) We feel that the results of our tournament could furthermore contribute to a more accurate and healthy discussion relating the Hussars Rated List. Our tournament will be based upon the principle of handing over a certain amount of autonomy to the individual players. In practise, this will mean that instead of heavily regulating the scheduling of matches by the tournament organisers, players bear the responsibly to contact their opponents by themselves following the tournament bracket. Besides, players are allowed to play their matches on a private server while refereeing the matches themselves. Vital in this form of autonomy is the mutual agreement of both opponents on decisions being made regarding date, server, map and referee. We look forward to seeing you participate in our tournament. - The tournament starts after the Fantasy League, presumably around the 21st of May.
- The tournament is supposed to last up to 3 or 4 weeks.
- The tournament will make use of a double elimination Challonge bracket.
- Following the bracket, players will have to contact their opponents and organize their matches themselves.
- There will be a tournament server with a specific map available, but players are also allowed to use their own server.
- There will be a group of referees available, but players are also allowed to referee their match themselves.
- Matches will be played in a Ft5 form, with the (semi)finals being a Ft10.
- Referees are allowed to participate in the tournament as well.
- There will be a tournament prize in the form of a Steam Gift Card for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
- Matches are to be played in 1 vs 1 format.
- The only playable class will be hussars.
- All hussar ranks (ranker, officer etc.) are allowed.
- It is the responsibility of the players to contact their opponents as soon as possible.
- Matches must be played within 4 days from the moment a player knows his opponent.
- If a player fails or neglects to arrange his match within 4 days, the match will be forfeited in favour of his opponent.
- If a player has a valid reason to ask for an extension of the 4 day timespan, it is his responsibility to inform an organizer/referee as soon as possible.
- The decision to play on a private server/map can only be made if both sides agree.
- The decision to referee the match themselves can only be made if both sides agree.
- Referees are allowed to referee their own match if both sides agree.
- If players want to make use of the tournament server, they either ask an official referee to join or ask one of the organizers/referees for the admin password and referee the match themselves.
- After a match has been played, either one of the players or a present referee will post the match result on FSE using the correct template.
- Dismounting is forbidden unless your opponent is also dismounted.
- No wallhugging, delaying, insulting, trolling or t-bagging.
