We are a friendly and international community with an interest to socialize and play games together. Our members come from all over Europe, as well as countries across the Atlantic Ocean such as the USA and Canada. Becoming a member is simple - all we ask is maturity and that you don't engage in breaking the rules, we accept members of all nationalities and for those that are already in an active regiment\clan, you can still be a member of the community. We don’t keep track of attendance and you do not have to be very active to stay, we will however contact inactive members and ask if they are still interested or not. There are no mandatory events or trainings, you come and go as you please, wearing tags in game or Teamspeak is not required, there are no special privileges or ranks and everyone gets a fair treatment. All you need is a basic understanding of English as it is used to lead on events. Once you have become a member you then have the authority to schedule your own event and take responsibility to lead and organize it after getting access to the steam group announcements. The community is under the guidance of the administration group called “The council”, that consists of former regiment’s officers & rankers who are dedicated to serve the community. We uphold a democratic rule and major decisions are made with all members’ voting. We deal primarily with internal affairs and help supervise events. Our history The 84e were one of the most prestigious and longstanding regiments in the NW Community, the regiment thrived for full four years since the release of Mount & Musket, a mod for Mount & Blade: Warband. Our regiment's faction was France and the regiment had a melee focused approach, reflected in its training and battlefield tactics. We were entirely a line-infantry regiment but we also had an artillery detachment and at once point a skirmisher detachment, along with a musicians’ band, a sapper and a flag carrier. We had a diverse member group with people from all around the world. Our members were mostly Europeans, but some were from other continents such as North and South America. The 84e has also been heavily involved in the FSE Community and administration team to support their work and efforts. For 2 years the 84e siege server dominated the server list with population, main attractions were its spectacular & unique custom made maps that are now the official siege maps generously donated to the FSE. The 84e was for a long time a tight “sibling regiment” of the 14e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne. Together for just under 3 years they formed the Ier Corps, our similar regiment structure in ranks, formations and battle tactics allowed us to synergies very well together. The 14e were and still are a strong reliable regiment, we fought fiercely in countless battles, there were many memories created from our bond. Sadly, we drifted apart due to a dispute between the regiment leaders. The 84e trademark is the “Bayonet Charge”: in the last round we sacrifice any significant advantages we have to line up with a lower stab and charge simultaneously. While charging we try to keep the line without any of us ‘meatshielding’ another. We embrace volleys of fire without hesitation as we’re suffering heavy losses, but nothing feels better than to decimate the enemy with our war cries and stab them with our bayonets. Un Contre Dix! History of the real 84e The 84th Line, created in 1684 was known by the Battle of Graz .On 25 and 26 June 1809, two battalions of the 84th defended a church cemetery for many hours against thousands of Austrian soldiers. In the end, the regiment broke through and escaped their enemies. In honor of the regiment's outstanding bravery on this occasion, the 84th was allowed to add the words UN CONTRE DIX (One Against Ten) on their colors. Here are a few details about this combat. Two battalions of the 84th Line with 2 guns entered the town of Graz, seized the stable and cleared the streets, and took 450 prisoners. The Austrians held only the church and cemetery. Fierce musketry halted the 84e, but at midnight the French scaled the cemetery's walls and took the defenders by surprise. Approximately 120 Austrians surrendered. The French realized that there were more Austrians in the neighbourhood, and the 84th considered a withdrawal only to find that the whitecoats had surrounded them. The 84e put all prisoners into the church, and took cover behind cemetery wall. Although most of the Austrian forces were militia, they outnumbered the French by 10 to 1, the only first rate unit was the Simbish Infantry Regiment. In the morning the whitecoats attacked the cemetery several times. In one attack they penetrated the church to liberate their comrades, in another attack they dragged off one cannon before the French counterattacked and retook it. In one of the last attacks the whitecoats scaled the wall and captured one of 84th's eagles, but Sergeant Legouge single-handedly entered the fight to save the eagle. Running out of ammunition the French decided to use bayonets and cut their way to safety, and they escaped and met up with a relieving troops sent by Marshal Marmont. For the loss of three officers and 31 men killed, 12 officers and 192 men wounded, and 40 captured, they inflicted an estimated 500 casualties on the Austrians.
