My friend adjusted his graphic settings, turned HDR mode on and suddenly...

It's a rare glitch that happens in warband.

Files get mixed up and suddenly your game doesn't load the background files but a face files and then you see this monster :p

Looks like your friend skinned someones face!

Just try reloading the game and it should fix, if not and you're using steam verify the steam files.
