2e Jagers te Voet
2e Jagers te Voet is an Iron Europe regiment.
The regiment was originally a Verdun group but will now be moved to Iron Europe.
But we will still play Verdun every now and then.
We are a nice community, so don't be a dick/troll. If you can't come to an event once or twice (not like 5+ times without a good reason), I don't mind. We are a casual regiment, but you still have to listen to your orders. Our rules are quite simple 
.
NOTE:
You don't have to come on roleplay events, it's only for those who want it. I know not everyone likes them.
A custom map will be used for roleplay. (it's not finished yet)

History
In 1914 the 2e Jagers te Voet & the 5e Jagers te Voet merged.
Their garrison was located in Bergen.
The two regiments made the 16th mixed brigade,
which was transported to the Gete by rail on 3 August.
A company of the 2e Jagers te Voet received
the baptism of fire in Jodoigne, the 16th of August.
Then the two regiments participated in the bloody outbursts from Antwerp.
On the 26th of August the 3e battalion of the 2e Jagers te Voet was at
the Verbrande-Brug. It is there that soldier Trézignies spontaneously offered to
maneuver the crutch of the drawbridge on the enemy bank of the canal of Willebroek.
The heroic soldier fell, pierced with bullets.

 | The regiments suffered heavy losses at Eppegem.
At the Nethe the 2e Jagers took part in the counterattack,
at the dawn of the 6th October. It lost a large number of men.
After the retreat of Antwerp, the 5e Jagerswas disbanded.
The 2e Jagers took part in the Battle of the Yser from 17 to 31 October 1914.
Two battalions distinguished themselves at Diksmuide and at Oudstuivekenskerke,
the other at Pervijze.

| On the 26th of December 1916 the 5th Jagers were re-formed from units
of the 2nd and a company of the 1st Jagers. After they had formed a brigade together,
the two regiments were separated. The 2e Jagers formed,
with the 1st and 21st Line, the 5th Infantry Division, while the 5th,
with the 3rd and 6th Jagers te Voet, formed the 11th Infantry Division.
In the liberation offensive, the 2e Jagers were maintained on the defensive front:
Neeuwpoort-Pervijze, while the 5e participated in the attack of the southern group
of the Army of Flanders and distinguished itself at Moorslede.
On the 14th of October 1918 the 2e Jagers took the offensive,
it penetrated Ostend and liberated the coast. At Ronsele,
on the diversion canal of the Leie, it joins the 5e Jagers.
The two regiments attempt in vain to cross the canal.
At the beginning of November, they will retaliate their victorious
people to the Ghent-Terneuzen canal: the 2e Jagers will reach
Ertvelde after having fought a battle; the 5e, in Landerbrudde, without encountering opposition.
Both regiments achieved the mentions: «Antwerp-Diksmuide-IJzer»;
the 2e also won that of "Ertvelde" and the 5e of "Moorslede".
Both bear the nestle and the color of the ribbon of the Leopold Order. |
