Middle class, access to horses and 5'8" with a thin frame.

God, I hope Hussar, Light Dragoon is more likely. Rifleman or Light Infantry is possible but I've never shot properly in my life so I can hardly comment on my accuracy.

Chances are I wouldn't be an officer, look up the prices of commissions sometimes, then consider that the value of the pound has changed tremendously. Ridiculous. Although I could possibly have gotten in as a cornet.

Officer, some cavalry regiment for the Prussians or French. I would love to be a dragoon or heavy cavalry.

Hussar, as I love sword duels and horses. If based on height, I could also be a grenadier. However I would rather serve in middle of 19th century as one of my relatives was field marshal of Russian army during that time.

Seeing that I'm Norwegian I would have probably either ended up in the Danish-Norwegian navy, which means I would likely have been shot to pieces during the battle for Copenhagen.

Another possibility is that i'd ended up as a ski trooper since I'm quite good at skiing. As most Norwegians are expected to be :P

Wouldn't be rich enough for an education, so... Most likely would enlist in a foot regiment for the money and the drink. Well, that sucks. Probably be the 22nd Cheshire regiment I enlisted in.

I would be a grunt or a grenadier based on my height and build.

I would either be a Drill sergeant in the Ottoman empire or be an ottoman/mercenary rifle man because I got really good eye sight.

I would be a light infantry man of the British Empire.

Or I would be a soldier of the Royal Artillery, as I like math.

Despite the fact that I'm of the physical build to be a grenadier, my commanding officers would quickly find that my independence is more suited to light infantry work.

So, either an NCO in a light company/rifle regiment... or flogged to death for insubordination..

If we take into account, however, what funds my family had at this point in time, I would likely end up as a subaltern for one of the rifle regiments.

Judging from my Finnish past I would have to be in the Russian Army. I'm also quite small so I wouldn't be in the feared Russian Line Infantry or in the Cavalry of the Ukrainian countryside, so I would have to say I would be in the rifles or the light infantry for the czar.

On a side note, did Russians actually have rifles in the late Napoleonics? I thought I read they were all replaced by muskets by 1812.

So after finding out that I have near perfect eye-sight, I suppose I may have been in The Rifles.

My family on my dad's side comes from Pry, Belgium and my mother's side comes from Ghent, Belgium in Flanders so I would likely have served in the Austrian Netherlands, perhaps under Captain Leloup's Jagers or in a similar light infantry or light cavalry regiment. But then later on I would more than likely have seen action in the French military, perhaps the 12th light, 112th Line or the 16th or 27th Chasseurs a Cheval. And were I lucky enough to survive long enough, I would go on to the Battle of Waterloo probably in either in a line battalion like the 7de or a jager battalion such as the 35ste. If not then I'd probably be in a light cavalry regiment like the 5de Light Dragoons or the 8ste Hussars

As if June 1808, in Jaeger regiments only NCOs and twelve chosen men from each company, for a max total of 144 per regiment, had rifles. The rest of the men had smooth-bore muskets. After the 1811 reorganization of battalions though, the Jaegers now had a "heavy company" in every battalion, and this company was broken into a light and heavy platoon, just like the regular infantry. The equivalent of grenadiers were called "carabiniers", while the equivalent of the light infantry were called "strelki" (from the singular strelok) or "vzvod strelkov or "strelkovyy vzvod" and this platoon would be comprised of all the chosen men from the other companies and thus have all the rifles.

In the regular infantry regiments, the light platoon never had rifles at all.
