Day of Defeat : Source
« on: October 25, 2014, 11:42:09 pm »

Couldent seem to find a thread so I'll just make this here. Day of Defeat: Source, DOD:S is a first person shooter, team based muliplayer game during WW2. It consists of two teams, the Axis and Allies each team having multiple classes, rifleman, assault, support, sniper, machine gunner and rocket. For a game realesed in 2005 it is a wonderful, alive shooter that is still active with many players. I've had this game ever since I've had steam and I still love playing this game. I'm aware that there are "units" such as 1stMRB, 6th, and of course, EdgeGamers. The game is very much alive and kicking, still my favorite game.

This, pretty much. It's a pretty good game, but after buying RO2 I don't see much reason to play this. Maybe I'll start it up again some time and see how I feel.

How so?

It's sort of unconventional. Weapon recoil is heavier than in other games, but it also doesn't perform in a way you'd expect. Not necessarily a bad thing, but a little difficult to get used to all the same.

I like the recoil, makes it feel more real

Also Stox used to play this game alot. I think he has like 1,600 hours. I personally don't see what's so great about it lol

I love this game. I always end up coming back to it every month or so, playing realisms and the like.

I was a SSgt in the 6th RB, its one of the oldest units and still going. I retired about a year ago though.
