For the event tomorrow we got a bigger arty reworking (rules and scripts).
The rules and scripts are of course open to discussions/feedback and tomorrow will be the major test for it. New stuff is seperatly activatable, so if we get problems, we are able to deactivate the new stuff.
Text explaining everything:
Artillery is now limited to 2 officers, 2 sappers, 4 Artytrains and artyrankers. Artilleryguard is not existent anymore.
With now 4 cannons, we implemented an ammunitionlimit for each cannonbox (20 round, 2 cannister and 5 carcasse(fire)), which should lead in longer rounds and a high firerate to a lack of ammunition.
The artillery is allowed to have 2 different artillerypositions, if they want. To compensate the ammount of people you need to fill the 4 cannons, every train gets a musket(scalpel is given to sapper), so any artillerist can take over the tasks of the artilleryguard. You are not allowed to spawn yourself muskets, but of course allowed to search for muskets on the map.
To make sure, that you get your 2 spyglasses, officers will spawn with ramrods, so if you have a lack of men, you dont have to spawn 4 rankers. Additionally we implemented, that when an artillerist dies, he will drop his spyglass, even when he doesnt hold it in his hands.
More cannons, more sappers, more positions, you get of course more buildpoints. We doubled the buildpoints, but will make the earth walls 50% more expensive.
The damage of the carcasse-ammunition got higher and also more visible (people will scream^^).
The whole artillery(including sappers) keeps the rules of the artyguard (skirmrules near the cannons, except officeraim), for other soldiers joining, their own rules apply.
Summary new Artyrules:
-Minimum 4 men per line maximum 15.
-Can bring 2 Sapper
-Can bring 2 Officers
-No Artyguard (no other class than artillery, or sapper allowed to spawn)
-Can take 4 cannons (no howitzer)
-You are allowed to have 2 different Positions at the same time
-Artillery/Sapper units may fight as skirmishers but you have to stick close to the guns
-You may not intentionally officer aim with muskets/rifles
-When moving away from the cannons, you need to line up for shooting
changed general rules:
-Artyguard and Arty may not spawn ensigns (your trainsapper has the scalpel)
-Only two officers allowed for each unit (except Artillery)
-100 build points available
New scripts:
-Earthwall costs 6 buildpoints
-Artillery-ammoboxes are limited to 20 rounds, 2 cannisters and 5 carcasses (everytime you pick an ammunition, you get a message about the remaining ammo in the box)
-Artilleryofficer spawns with ramrod
-Sapper spawns with scalpel
-Artytrain spawns with musket and bullets
-Any artillerist will drop his spyglass on death, even if not wielded
Changed scripts:
-More damage for the carcasse
-Screams for people that are burning
