First, we are proud to introduce two new members in our development team:
Jonasspil and
DarthTaco. Jonas is specialized in props modelling & mapping, and Darth have huge experience in weapon modelling/texturing & inorganic modelling. So, there is no doubt that these two new members will help us to progress in the development of the mod!
Obviously, some clarification is required about our activity/presence little eloquent during the last months. Indeed, we was discrete publicly, that could make you believe that the project was abandoned. I reassure you, this is not the case! New World Conflict is more relevant than ever! In recent months, the development team and myself have been in a long period of reflection about the future of the mod. Obviously, this reflection phase involved a temporary pause of development. Indeed, following the establishment of our threads on FSE and TalesWorld, so following our public release, we contacted several Mount & Blade: Warband communities (including the NW community) to promote our project, and above all to gain their support/participation in our major project. The purpose of our threads was precisely to gain the support of these communities, because as you know: without community, our mod cannot exist! Unfortunately, not much groups of players, key members of the communities have generated real interest for NWC, which makes us think about the value, the real importance of our mod. Why devote so much work for such a project if to the end, only some players are playing at this mod (this is also an issue that does not affect only us, but almost all mods Mount & Blade: Warband )? Indeed, this obvious lack of interest of the
MAJORITY (I do not include everyone far away, and I thank also the few regiments who offered their support) of community stakeholders have questioned the principle of our mod. This questionnable thing made us react on the importance of open world of Mount & Blade. People, but especially the communities of players are they really interested in this new format, this new concept? It made us understand that it is not only important to do promotion for the open world towards all the communities of Mount & Blade: Warband, but that we also must
ABSOLUTELY provide something concrete to the players to raise all their attention! Thus, and only thus, we will be able to bring out the true value, the real importance of the open world on Mount & Blade: Warband. That is why we are working on the implementation, in the short and medium term, of an open world prototype that will be fully accessible and available on the DLC Napoleonics Wars. This project will format as a weekly event (such as a battle line) and will allow all players to formally test the open world format. We are currently negotiating with some regiments/communities for the implementation of this project that will be realized, we must not forget, in full cooperation with the NWC development team. Thus, before the official release of New World Conflict, you could test exclusively the concept and the functionalities of the open world, and this, very soon! But do not worry, we will continue the development of NWC same time oversee the implementation of this promotional event!
Moreover, speaking of the functionalities of the open world, it is important to mention that we started the first multiplayer tests (that means we are currently testing the open world system: so, Switching Server System, Supremacy gamemode, etc. on few dedicated servers hosted in Mount & Blade: Warband). A test video will arrive soon.
Also, I leave you with a screenshot of Kentucky Rifle model, who is still in WIP (made by DathTaco):
Some other amazing screenshots coming in the next days!
