I've played this game long ago, seemed alright, although for some reason it would hardly run on my computer. Odd, it was.

However, I'd say it seemed alot more like Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War, personally.

Maybe you installed through the wrong mirror?

Might have. Reinstalled today, runs fine.

They really need to get the options menu sorted out, though.  :-\

I think it was funny when I got my hoplites to kill some sheep, and then when they walk they hold the meat than when they halt they take out their weapons, its really funny if you see them go to battle that way xD

This.

After playing Macedon I really started to like the game - I also like that infantry can't totally dismantle a base, rather kill the inhabitants unlike other strategy games, where a spear somehow ignites a capital building.

Well in Aoe (3 at at least) infantry have torches that they use to ignite and demolish buildings. It's certainly a very slow process to destroy buildings without proper artillery or whatever though.

Ah yes.

AoE3 had a good building hitpoint system with the torches. Alot more realistic than just stabbing at it with your sword, or shooting it as it is in other games. But aye, I see your point. It is rather slow, but I don't exactly want to see my Pezhetairoi swapping between a Sarissa and a Torch fast enough to swap between damaging both. Would look awkward. ;).

However, I do agree to some degree.

I've seen this game since Alpha 4(?).  It's so much fun to play around with it's very basic multiplayer system over a LAN network.  Making walls was a bitch for a while, but once we created something that looked defend-able, I told my friends to start building up masses of siege equipment and had our own battle that way.

Looked nice!
