Would you like to see MM dying animations in NW?

Yes, I'd love it.
Doesn't really matter to me.

Dying Animations from MM
« on: December 21, 2012, 09:24:47 pm »
I was watching some old MM videos and I couldn't help but wish that the dying animations from there could be applied into Napoleonic Wars?

Say when you get shot: In MM you would take the bullet in the gut, and fall forward slowly, in stead of NW-style where you just kind of fall over. I do however like the NW-style headshot where it literally propels  your body backward in surprise.

I want the community's opinion as well as the Dev's opinion and if it would ever work. It'd be nice to see it as a part of the next / final patch for NW.

I'll add a poll where you can vote.

Those were open source animations used from another mod, we can't use them in a commercial project naturally.

In Battle Cry of Freedom, we Re-enacted such dieing animations though and will be in the new game. ;)

Can't wait for it, little things like that will make the game much more enjoyable to play.

Thanks for the response, those always made dying much less painful.

does the m&b engine allow different animations for different ways of dying? (say a stab to the stomach versus the head)

Yea, stab to the head has a different standard animation than others.

Yeah, I realize that. Those were actually my motivation to make this thread.

Glad we will have similar ones back in BCoF :D

There defiantly needs to be more death animations, I personally don't care how they would look like as long as there's more of a diversity. Maybe three or so animations for when you get shot in the chest a few more for when you get hit in the gut or something, it doesn't look right when your in a charge and a couple of guys get shot and they all get the same animation. One really cool  one would be when your character gets shot, falls on the ground and kinda of struggles to get up or something and just collapses, I don't know just a idea... kinda of like that death animation in BF3

I like the current ones right now, they seem to work quite well.
