Battle for Humbleberry Station (Map) (Released)
« on: January 06, 2013, 09:08:46 am »
This is just a quick map Im working on, chiefly because I am bored with the random plains/desert/steppe maps that are usually used.

Its pretty much as basic as it can get, with the Zulu's attacking a outpost type thing, and isn't at all based on a actual battle that took place. I have made it so it can be used with bots without them getting stuck or glitching out, though I haven't really tested it with bots vs humans, so it might need some balancing. Another thing is that there isnt as much preparation time when compared to the random maps, the combat comes fairly quickly.

It is rather bare, and Im not sure if I will go into any effort making it visually pleasing as I am mainly focusing on making it fun to play. Anyway, here are some pictures of it.

Overview:

The Zulu's have to make a dash across the stream and to the bushes, as they are basically sitting ducks on the hillside. However, once in the bushes they are practically invisible.

First version ready for download, may be some problems. If any servers do use it, feedback would be appreciated.

Downloadable.
Though I am not sure what I would need to upload, like, file wise.

Id you'd like to upload it for people to use then we'd need the following:

  • The .sco file itself (e.g. scn_mp_custom_map_20.sco
  • The Terrain data for that scene found in your scenes.txt file which is in the main module folder.
Code: Sample Terrain Data
scn_mp_custom_map_20 mp_custom_map_20 256 none none 0.000000 0.000000 100.000000 100.000000 -100.000000 0x000000023002a1ba0004210900003ca000006a8900007a7b

Upload the sco, paste the terrain data into the thread and your map will be useable by anyone =]

Just an suggestion to make it look a bit "smoother" / (better looking). Don't use the path like that one the camp/village. If so use either earth, or steppe. (Like on the rest of the map). And if so you wish to use earh, be sure you do everything just outside the camp/village steppe.

Same for the artillery encampment.

The terrain looks nice tho. Just work a bit on those ground textures here and there. ;)

The pleasure would be all mine, It is an amazing mod.

AI mapped?

Yes, it is. I am not sure how well it works but from my testing it does the job.

Too bad the download is down. Could you maybe get the download available again? I would love it
