Did Portuguese infantry carry saber briquets?

My knowledge of Portuguese uniform extends to NTW. I was just wondering because they're kind of awkwardly floating on the sides of the soldiers in the mod, and I assumed you couldn't actually remove them from the Prussian units. Literally the only problem with the mod and i can deal with it because Portuguese cav is sexy af
