The Maramere Campaign: "Operation Ion Tide"
Hello everyone; this will be a series of 4 events, where the map order and the maps themselves will be changed by which side wins each week. It will also feature a more prominent High Command role, who will be in charge of giving orders to every regiment on their side-- they'll be elected by the regiment leaders, more on that down below. If you're interested in helping make flavor stuff (read: fancy up screenshots) or doing some mapping add
Azrayel on Steam (White A on turquoise background).
The events will be hosted by Jedi Council and managed entirely by Azrayel until further notice..
Boring (but necessary) Bits
Rules of Server:
Spoiler
1+Respond to admin requests promptly, if you feel the command is unjust report it to management post-event (with pertinent evidence)
2+Respect all Rules of Engagement and know what, if any, special ones apply to the present engagement (such as ceasefire for deployment during siege for defenders)
3+Intentional team killing\wounding, frequent en mass "accidental" team killing (read: grenades at spawn), etc. will get you kicked. Use common sense.
Rules of Engagement:
Spoiler
Every engagement may be subject to certain special rules, such as allowing 60 seconds of ceasefire for the defenders to take up positions before shots are fired or the attackers leave their spawn; all these rules will be made explicit in the "Upcoming Battle" section. However, there are some regular rules:
+Jedi and Sith numbers will be regulated total number; they will start at 15 per team, but this number may be subject to increase as events escalate.
+Jet-capable regiments will be regulated by ratio-- generally speaking, there can be one jet-capable regiment for every two normal infantry regiments deployed.
+Magna Guard and ARC Trooper squads, depending on size, may be subject to the 1:2 ratio rule.
+You are encouraged color code your units by rank and wear darker/lighter robes depending on alignment to the Jedi or Sith; this is optional but appreciated.
General/Admiral System
Spoiler
The Republic's General and Separatist's Admiral will both be elected via pseudo-representational democracy. The first round of elections each regiment signed up gets a single ballot, cast by the regiment leader for one of the other regiment leaders.
After this preliminary election, votes will be dictated by your Actual Power (AP), or the number of attendees from your regiment who showed up to the previous engagement. All these ballots will be cast by the regiment's highest commander.
The General/Admiral will need to remain in contact with all other regiment commanders present for each given engagement, and give them orders-- ranging from "Seek and Destroy" to "Hold the leftmost bunker"-- it's at their discretion how regiments will attempt to work towards the overarching goal of the engagement, but it's at each regiment commander's mercy that the General/Admiral isn't booted for the next engagement. Hopefully this will encourage a bit of friendly rolePlay and ensure equitable relations.
Jedi Council\Sith Oversight Systems
Spoiler
Jedi: every Jedi Knight sent to Maramere has been briefed on the utmost importance of the strategic resources there, and extensive reports on their behavior are expected. Any Jedi who breaks the Code or conducts themselves in a manner unbecoming of a Jedi will be recalled and replaced after the engagement where a clear infraction has been made.
OOC: Essentially, if you rambo to the detriment of the group you're attached to, abuse your power, or act as a detriment to your squad/regiment\side, you'll be dealt a swift boot to the ass and replaced with someone who stays in line. These spots are few and nobody wants the people in them to be jerks or irresponsible. This doesn't mean stand in a line waiting for death by any means, but it does mean expect to be held responsible and made answerable to every decision you make in battle-- Jedi must always be alert.
Sith: every Sith operative sent to Maramere understands the value of the chemical weapons and Stigyum crystals. They also understand the great financial strain Darth Tyranus (Count Duku) has already put his allies through to field this invasion. If the invasion becomes too costly, then it may lose support of the Separatist Council; you are to be an agent of swift and sure victory, minimizing expenses for the CIS and maximizing casualties for the Republic so long as it serves the purpose of Confederate conquest on Maramere. Additionally, the relationship with the Mandalorian clans is already a tenuous one given their storied history with various Sith, so any actions of bad faith or hostility towards these mercenaries or their "honor" will be subject to critical review in the interest of diplomacy.
OOC: getting your team-mates killed can't be a moral issue for you, but it can be a monetary one-- these droids ain't cheap! Essentially, making an ass of yourself could get you a call from Duku where you'll need to be answerable for your actions a la the Jedi. The difference here is sacrificing massive amounts of troops or abandoning your "men," as long as you have damn good reason to believe it will lead to victory (or, far superior, actually obtaining victory via this) can be permissible.

BackstorySpoiler
Maramere is largely an aquatic world, its native mer being amphibious people, with sporatic islands. It was once used as a manufacturing site for chemical weapons by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and is still a repository of rare Stygium crystals, material vital to special cloaking devices for stealth ships and facilities. A lone Jedi Knight, Adi Gallia, was sent to the planet shortly before the war and helped the locals wage a successful guerrilla campaign to eject Separatists forces before returning to help the war effort at the Battle of Geonosis.
Now, with the War in full commencement, the Separatists have dispatched an invasion force to retake the outer rim world in earnest. Knowing its vital importance but stretched thin across its vast holdings, the Galactic Republic was only able to station ground forces on the planet at the beginning of the war-- there is no defensive fleet. Maramere High Command has appealed to Courescant, but the Senate has deliberated too long: the only relief will come in the form of the Jedi Council, who have sanctioned a handful of Jedi Knights to help reinforce the clones on Maramere.
It is the eve of battle, and the strategic resources on Maramere threaten to swing the war in favor of the CIS if the Republic's forces cannot hold their own.

Maramere - Listening Post
The Republic arrived at the old Listening Post a month ago and began shoring up the defenses and establishing an AA presence-- both sides know that this position will be vital to the coming battles, and may spell victory for the force that holds it.
Please note-- this thread is under construction and not yet fully finalized, but feel free to sign up for positions to-Day//And make suggestions about how the event should be handled!
