The downside I seem to see is that the warfare itself looks at this point so easy and so automated. Which worries me a bit. Hoi3 was great because you could spend so much time in organising precisely your army. And micro-manage each division. This looks like you just drop an arrow somewhere and the ai does the rest. Though I can be horribly wrong, but that's what it looks like from that footage.

Yea i noticed that to, i feel like they changed it to make it more of the Vic2, EU4, CK2, kind of warfare. And it shifted to the planning and tatics becoming important, but with more manage of the army/air force/ navy itself.

I wouldn't mind a few simplifications when it comes to army management, just as long as has the HoI feeling to it and doesn't become EU IV in WW2.

This is kind of what I'm worried about based on some of the gameplay, and their claim that they're gonna "make it more accessible to new players" which is always somewhat of a death sentence. Hopefully they'll bring it all together successfully.

From the look off those gameplay reviews... It pretty much looks like my fears have been realised. Fucking drawning a vew lines/arrows seems to be the warfare this game is going to provide.

I have no idea how to play Hearts of Iron, Viktoria or EU IV, but I'm still hyped.

Buy EU4 with all DLCs; price it reduced by 75% for 2 more hours.

We can only hope. The people covering the game had never played Hoi3 and maybe learned the noob gameplay tactics.
