A brief History
The 6th Michigan Cavalry was organized at Grand Rapids, Michigan from May 28 to October 13, 1862 and mustered in October 13, 1862. Among the officers who later joined the regiment as replacements were Thomas W. Custer, who would earn two Medals of Honor while serving with the 6th in the spring of 1865. The regiment was assigned to what became the Michigan Brigade during the early part of the Gettysburg Campaign in June 1863. It saw its first actions under General Custer at the Hanover, Hunterstown, and Gettysburg. Armed with Spencer Repeating Rifles, the 6th provided superior firepower against the lightly armed Confederate cavalry.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for mature players to come and join us in a blast to the past! As we take up arms in the American Civil war as the 6th Michigan Calvary we'll be aiming to offer a realistic yet relaxed environment for our members, the regiment will be formed up around a corp of veteran players most of which have been playing Mount and Blade for the last three years! Furthermore we aim to offer newer players room to grow and develop not only their skills but also their knowledge of the American Civil War.
What can you expect from us?
From the command staff of the 6th Michigan Cavalry you can expect a robust but fair command style. If you show interest in either command or tactics we'll do our best to explain the method behind our engagements as well as during the training you'll be receiving under our command. It's also the job of the command staff to assist you with -any- issues you are having during your time within the regiment, be this one-to-one training or dealing with personal issues involving the Regiment.
