The 6th Louisiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment begins its history in Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonics Wars as the IVe Corps d'Armée Français, the oldest and largest French-speaking community founded in December 2010 and still active today. With the announcement of the release date of Battle Cry of Freedom, we decided to project ourselves in the American Civil War by gathering the largest number of French speakers in our structure! The 6th Louisiana Infantry Regiment was a Louisiana Tigers regiment which served in the Confederate States Army from 23 May 1861 to 9 April 1865 during the American Civil War. It was formed by newspaper editor Isaac G. Seymour and included several print workers; two-thirds of the regiment were of foreign origin, and it was nicknamed the "Irish Brigade" due to its large size. It was organized at Camp Moore, Louisiana from the men of New Orleans and the parishes of Union, Sabine, Ouachita, St. Landry, and St. Bernard, and it was attached to the Army of Northern Virginia, arriving in Virginia shortly after the First Battle of Bull Run. The regiment was decimated at Gaines' Mill in 1862, with only 50 of its troops surviving; Colonel William Monaghan re-created the regiment, which went on to fight at the Battle of Antietam as part of the Stonewall Brigade. Colonel Henry B. Strong was killed at the Miller Cornfield. The regiment went on to fight at the Battle of Gettysburg, and its remaining 4 officers and 48 men were mustered out at Appomattox Courthouse on 9 April 1865.
