Celebrating One Year of 101st!
History of The 101st Airborne
The 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army (nicknamed the "Screaming Eagles") is an elite light infantry division that carries out air assault operations. Recently, the 101st has been performing foreign internal defense and counter-terrorism operations within Iraq and Afghanistan, however the division has close to a century of history. It was renowned in World War 2 for its exploits in Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, the liberation of the Netherlands, and during the Battle of the Bulge. The 101st was also involved in many campaigns and battles during the Vietnam War, including the Battle of Hamburger Hill. They are considered a very versatile and fast moving unit is currently the world's only air assault division capable of a 4,000-man combined-arms air assault 150 kilometers into enemy territory in a single lift.
Another bit of history that our beloved Captain m1keeee would like to point out is that American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter Jimi Hendrix was enlisted into the 101st in 1961, but was honorably discharged about a year later after his platoon sergeant filed a report complaining that "Private Hendrix will never come up to the standards required of a soldier". Also he was caught literally jacking off while on duty.
History of our 101st Regiment
Our 101st, judging by the previous forum page submitted by our first Colonel, was formed on July 1st, 2016. The regiment was formed through the cooperation of our first Colonel and his friend at the time, Brad, who began as Lieutenant Colonel. The two went on to aggressively recruit members, searching everywhere they could, and in just a matter of a couple weeks were able to form a decently sized, functional, and active group. Besides myself, there are no other currently active members from this original period, which lasted about 2-3 months. Through a series of events, Brad ended up with command of the 101st, and as the second Colonel of the regiment he was very well respected and beloved by his soldiers, and under his leadership the 101st grew greatly in both size and skill. Brad led the 101st regiment up until sometime in February 2017, when he received a new job opportunity, and ended up with hardly any time to spare to both the regiment and gaming in general. As his Lieutenant Colonel in the time of his absence, and with the approval of the rest of the longstanding members of the regiment, it fell on me to take command as the third Colonel of the 101st. In the time since then I have grown and learned a lot about being a leader myself, and in the time since then my Lieutenant Colonel Shadow and I have worked tirelessly to bring the 101st back to the former glory it had, and I'm very happy to say that so far, we're succeeding.
Information About the Regiment
The 101st is a skirmisher regiment on the Napoleonic Wars DLC for Mount and Blade: Warband, but our community also spends a lot of time hanging out and playing other games, such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Town of Salem, or any Total War games. We participate in several linebattle events a week, primarily as a skirmisher unit, but we also do extensive training on bayonet melee combat and work towards being able to excel as any unit. We are a group that doesn't focus on being overly strict or being "the most skilled regiment of all time". Instead, the main goal is to unite people with a passion for gaming, and provide a fun experience for all in attendance. When that happens though, we're doing our very best to annihilate the enemy. Our current weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday: 101st Monday Linebattle (As the title suggests, we host this one ourselves)
Tuesday: Free Day
Wednesday: Free Day
Thursday: QRB Thursday Linebattle
Friday: 63e Line Only Linebattle
Saturday: Free Day
Sunday: 63e Linebattle
We will gather the online members and train before every event, starting at 6:50 PM EST (Though the training will officially begin at 7:00), and events begin at 8:00 PM EST.
We very strongly encourage recruitment on off days, and we also participate in 1v1s against other regiments that may take place on Free Days. The schedule is always subject to change and will be updated here soon after any changes. As for attendance, we expect every member online to attend both pre-event training and the event itself if they are able. We encourage members to report to an officer whenever there is a day that they believe they will miss, or whenever an event is going on that will cause them to be absent for a prolonged period of time, such as vacations. As for leaves of absence or retirement from the regiment, we will fully respect the decision as long as you come to an officer and offer an explanation.
New members start at the Cadet rank, and after attending a week's worth of events they are given the rank of Private. From there they can be promoted on to Private First Class, Specialist, and Lance Corporal or Veteran by exhibiting great skill in combat, demonstrating leadership abilities, and of course, consistent and frequent attendance. As a rule, we have a cap on the total amount of NCOs we have (1 Sergeant Major, 2 Sergeants, and 4 Corporals), and as long as there's an open position, any member at the rank of Specialist or above may apply for the position, though they must have also passed the other requirements (detailed on the Steam group page). The job of an NCO is to be prepared to take command of the unit in the absence of officers or after their death on the battlefield, and to enforce regimental rules and discipline among the Rankers.
Active Roster
Here is the current active duty roster of the 101st regiment. We are a regiment that play exclusively in NA events and with other NA groups, we will gladly accept any EU players that wish to join our regiment, however there is an EU 101st regiment that we have no affiliation with (101st British Regiment of Foot), so be aware of that. The roster is also of course subject to change at any time so I will do my best to update it here soon after any changes. A member will be listed on the roster after they have attended their first event or training. At the moment, our average attendance per event is 15-20. Our highest at this point has been 21.

How to Join the 101st
If you are interested in joining the 101st regiment, there are a few things you should know first. We do have an age limit, we will not accept anyone under the age of 13. We have a strict anti-troll policy, anyone who actively disrupts the activities of the regiment, as well as anyone who holds no respect for the rules or those holding a higher rank than them will be dealt with. The rules of our regiment and more additional information can be found on our Steam group page (link here:
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/101stRegiment).
So, with that being said, all you have to do to join is add one of our officers on Steam and let us know you want in. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
