Because we (FSE) have already tried hosting a quote pyramid thread to allow users to freely make something that was otherwise against the rules. It was quickly discontinued for the reason that if someone tried to open the thread their browser would crash. So, no more quote pyramids, and especially no more quote pyramid threads.
