The Passing of the Armies
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:54:26 pm »
Some amazing quality images of the Review of the Union Armies in Washington DC. Most of the units involved were disbanded and sent home in the following weeks. Images are of parading Infantry, Veteran Reserve Corps (Light Blue Jackets) and Civilians in the viewing stands.

I recommend opening in opening pictures in a new tab and zooming in on points of interest.

Company of Infantry. Likelly of the Army of the Tenesse (Sherman's Western Army)

(Notice placks marked Petersburg and Richmond)

Platoon of Veteran Reserve Corps soldiers.

Crowd of onlookers with VRC soldiers in front.

Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

K
Arminius/Dennis Bergkamp/Tristan Bouvier/J.P. ...

All my life I’ve been fearful of defeat. But now that it has come it’s not near as terrible as I’d expected. The sun still shines, water still tastes good…glory is all well and good but life is enough, nay?
