Just because regulations forbid it doesn't mean it vanished overnight, I remember reading about French soldiers wearing their bicorns to bits despite them being withdrawn for Shako in the Napoleonic Wars.

I can see that, since if they lost their shako they would wear their bicorn.

I prefer decacornes.
In theory we could do huge player numbers far over 500 players per server...  As such we will surely keep our promise to deliver you the 500 players per server.

We will probably go (far) over it, but that's for later.

Just because regulations forbid it doesn't mean it vanished overnight, I remember reading about French soldiers wearing their bicorns to bits despite them being withdrawn for Shako in the Napoleonic Wars.

Which is why the helmet was explicitly forbidden 1800, 5 years after it was abolished. Wearing one was now against direct orders and punishable. The reason bicornes were worn for a few years was simply because regiments did not receive their shakos at once. Once they did, colonels were obliged to have his men wear the things or he'd be up for court martial.

There's a difference between the dis-uniformity happening on campaign and directly ignoring regulations and orders, which is something the army was not a great fan of.

Spoiler
Well... To let you know, a little teaser as to what is coming soon!

[close]

Ooooooooooooh damn, that's nice.

When you do the Revolutionary Wars Russian skins (If you choose to do so) I suggesting doing a reskin to change Kutuzov to Aleksandr Suvorov, who famously fought the French & Italian forces having marched his army through the Alps and having never lost a battle is his career then returned to Moscow and died shortly after the expedition, he never fought against Napoleon himself however.

He was also the general who inspired the Russian shock tactics which were in use for the next 150 years, which worked with varying success.

The little things (: Great work as always Beta!

It'd be nice if you could do something of a universal "War of the Third Coalition" pack, something that changes all of the uniforms/units for the nations :D

Also maybe turn Prussia into the Batavian Republic.

If you want I could actually compile a unit list of which nations did what when.

Please no Tarleton helmet. Ontop of the fact that it looks like shit, it was uncommon in comparison with the bicorne in later years and as duuring said it was disallowed and then abolished.

Just because regulations forbid it doesn't mean it vanished overnight, I remember reading about French soldiers wearing their bicorns to bits despite them being withdrawn for Shako in the Napoleonic Wars.

The elite units loved cocking around with the uniforms though. Almost all Voltiguers wore their little epaulettes even though they were not allowed, foot Carabiniers and grenadiers still carried their bearskin caps for several years even though they too were abolished.
