I've been approached by quite a few sad men that feel the list was a tad biased!

I don't see a point in trying to "remove the bias", the list was surely biased but any other list that follows it will be biased as well, in a different way, but biased nevertheless. Which is simply natural and inevitable rather than bad or wrong, since no matter who you ask to vote, they will project their personal likes and dislikes onto their rating. If I were asked to vote, I would totally give excessively good ratings to my best friends in the game like Erik or Quack and maliciously underrate people I hate.

Only Remao has achieved true nirvana and complete detachment from human passions, thus being able to vote objectively from his hermit hut in the middle of a french bamboo forest where he lives surrounded by biches and hannetons.

Well yes, but having 5 players from the 4e, 3 from the 8th and way less from other regiments will surely result in some bias towards those regimental players. Now there might be biased towards own regiment, but it will be mostly cancelled out by the fact that there's an even amount of players rating from each regiment.
