All the NW mods
« on: November 13, 2012, 07:34:43 am »
What's going to happen to all the NW mods? I can foresee some taking at least a year to be finished, and by then we will all be converting to the civil war by FSE. Will those mods die out? Or will they need to be changed over when FSE releases there new game (and porting over could take many months)

That's a great question Hammy, and I can see some people firing up their nw for Iron Europe events. I know I will!

Well, not all people who played Mount and Blade went on and played NW, my guess is that maybe some people stay behind. I hope that the regiment based mods ( Iron Europe for instance ) stay alive, for the rest of them, only time will tell.

Well, as long as the interest in the mods are still there, we will just continue playing them as usual. The difference between the gameplay would be the biggest thing I see, but I don't think that modders are going to worry about porting their mods to BCoF.

Lets consider what mods are in development; The Zombie Mod, Iron Europe, and the Boshin Ji Hietai. I don't know much about  modding, but these games look promising. They will be modded with the NW coding and played that way.

Don't take offense to what I'm about to say; I don't think, and I'm sure some people agree with me, that all these mods probably will just be played casually. I don't think Iron Europe battles will be too common, just  because gameplay will be a bit slow. Zombie mod will be a good game to play on the side with some friends, and I don't know a lot about the Boshin mod.

NW and N&S communities will port themselves to BCoF when it releases and the mods we come to love will most likely remain played as usual on the NW engine.

Just my opinion though, don't flame  me!  :)

Even if they do die they will have a longer life than most multiplayer mods.

Indeed.

The thing is, the community who created the mods, will continue to play them, because the same community will exist with BCoF. However, I'm with Megaberna, only time can tell.

Have you ever been to a WWI Source realism? :P It'll be very similar for sure, not nearly as slow paced as you think it would be.
