Then it's not the question of whether it'll be possible, but what makes you think you can mass up even up to 500 players even once the game is out for a while? The levels for that would have to be enormous, and what if you can't get 500(Or even more) players on a constant basis, what then? Are 40 players going to run 2 kilometers in order to meet each other?

Of course, there'll be smaller game modes(I hope so) to take care of the faster paced and smaller level environments, but also for lower player counts.

Just a question.

You see, unlike some would have you believe (*cough* Battlefront) it is in fact possible to have both small AND large maps in the same game that can be picked on a situational basis.

Sorry if I made you spit out your drink m8

I'm sure linebattles will get over 40 players if NW can get 200 after so long. As for the maps I think there's different gamemodes, we need to stop comparing it to NW as it's not the same game. There might not be 1 spawn per side, there might be 5 which you need to capture (like conquest but less messy I hope.)

This. So much this.

I believe it is actually a bit of an insult to the Devs to still see this game as a slightly bigger reskin of NW.

I agree with this.

This game isn't going to be 100% different, so it is unwise to criticise the game when comparing to to NW. Yes, it would be laggy with 500 players on normal NW but on this game, a totally different game with a new engine, it will work.

All it means really is that there will be fewer active servers if not many people play. 500 players in an entire multiplayer game is very, very few. Even old games with dying communities manage to keep an active few hundred players spread out over several servers. If by some unfortunate circumstance BCOF only had a few hundred active players, they could all be in one server and still fill it up and make it fun.

Anyway, the only scenario I could see this being a problem is public play. Linebattles would easily attract 500 players, considering NW had multiple events in one night with over a thousand players collectively.

You said: "The levels for that would have to be enormous, and what if you can't get 500(Or even more) players on a constant basis, what then? Are 40 players going to run 2 kilometers in order to meet each other?" (too lazy to quote lel)

My point was just like in NW a smaller map would be selected in that situation.

And the Battlefront reference was just for comparison  ::)

Any plans for a Linux port in the future, won't blame you as of its alpha and whatnot but it'd be nice to know.

Naturally maps will adapt to player counts, specific parts are only used.

Linux and Mac support is a maybe, the engine supports it, but some things are coded windows only right now without an alternative ready.
We shall see.

You talking about the full game or just alpha?
