That's because the British have a unnecessary amount of different medals. The Americans just have few, so they are issued more. Same goes for the French Legion D'honneur. Granted, Napoleon I did toss it around like candy a bit...

The Polish. The only people in the world stupidly brave enough to charge German tanks with lances...

Kpetschulat, with most of your posts you're showing that you've got some promblems with Poland. A bit of butthurt because you've lost a war?
Polish cavalry have never charged tanks with lances nor swords. They were fighting mostly against infantry and (behold!) cavalry used to win these battles. Stories about charging tanks with lances have been made by German propaganda during the war. And that's historical fact.
There is a story that scientists built an inteligent computer.
The first question they asked it was "Is there a God?"
The computer replied "There is now."
And the bolt of lightning struck the plug,
So it couldn't be turned off.

Unfortunantly most truths nowdays are hidden by the Victors propoganda.

'His'tory is written by the victors. Sadly a large proportion of what is known is likely to have been made up, or exaggerated. Take the bible for example.

Wait, wait, wait... so you guys, are trying to tell, that German propaganda wasn't in fact propaganda and we think it was propaganda just because modern propaganda says that it was propaganda? Seems legit...

How do we know we actually won the war? Could be German propaganda saying the allies won, when they really one so they could get their Car industry and be able to buy off just about every country...

@Kpetschulat: The thing with Polish uhlans is a far spread story. It was like the following:
Polish lancers were attacking German infantry units (probably they dismounted and fought with their carbines. Then surprisingly German tanks arrived to support the infantry. The Polish had to retreat on their horses and ... ya know.

@topic: For a decorated soldier on the German side maybe google Heinrich Severloh. He wasn't decorated ofc but he defended Omaha Beach for about 9 hours at D-Day in his MG-nest before he had to retreat together with his lieutenant who got shot later. He was taken as a prisoner.

Most of my posts? That's the first post in which I mentioned anything about Poland, and it was a compliment... Also, are you really going to start some stupid bullshit "u r butthurt 2 bad fgt" about WWII? If you want to go there, last time I check, we [the Germans] ROLLED the fuck over you and took poland in just a few weeks. Lol. What I said was also a joke based on the Polish propaganda with lancers actually charging German mechanized divisions.

Please, don't be a stupid nationalistic prick. I have a great love about Polish history. So, don't spew bullshit to me that "I hate Poland."

Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

7 hours to be precise.

Norway was the country to hold out against an invasion the longest after the USSR, for a total of 62 days.
