Off Topic / Re: Israel: Zionist or Holy Defender of Civilisation?
« on: July 25, 2014, 11:50:24 pm »
In my opinion, all Israel is doing by their attacks on Gaza is increasing the chance of attack on them by other extreme Islamists in the middle east. Israel is giving Hamas and extremists all the propaganda they need. Attacking innocent civilians, bombing schools and populated areas etc. Its a situation that very much reminds me of Bloody Sunday in Derry in 1972. Israel is giving Hamas the biggest victory it will ever have. If you are someone who is sympathetic with the Palestinian cause, seeing the ratio of deaths and the pictures of dead Palestinian children may be all that you need to start firing rockets or to put on a suicide vest.

The Mess Hall / Re: FIFA World Cup 2014 Brasil THREAD!
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:20:35 pm »

About EU football. It's all based about strength. I just hate that. I just love the Samba and dribbling of the South American Teams.

Surely it was Brazil who tried to play with strong players like Hulk and Fred. Brazil tried to play an extremely physical game, look at their games vs Colombia and Chile. The only European team as physical as those three is Belgium. Look at the teams who made it to the Quarter Finals, 6 of them play extremely fluid dribbling and passing based games. The European game isn't about strength or power any more, it's about pace and skill, about good ball players. Just about the opposite of how Brazil played this world cup. To quote Tim Vickery "Brazilian football is operating ludicrously short of its potential. It's been resting on its laurels, pointing at its five World Cup wins and saying everything's fine. It isn't fine. Germany have given us a lesson, regrouping after their 5-1 defeat to England in 2001. Brazil need to do the same thing." Brazil tried to win the game in moments, European teams tried to control the game.

I like the idea of the EU, but right now it is not executed correctly. I would like the EU to have slightly less power, but leaving it would be a huge mistake for many countries.

There is still no clear proof that Assad launch the chemical attack, I believe it was in fact the rebels who launched the attack. Why?
1) Assad is not stupid, he is a doctor who was trained in the UK, and he saw what happened when Iraq didn't let inspectors into his country. 2) Assad is winning the war, and the only way that he can lose is with Western involvement. 3) It all seems too convenient. The rebels were caught with 2kg of Sarin in Turkey. The attack happened to be in the part of the city controlled by the rebels.
The rebels need western help to win, and if killing 500 of their own people is the only way to do it, I have no problem with believing some Islamic fundamentalist  would do it to gain power.

I really do not understand why anyone would want to portray the SS. Ever been to Oradour-sur-Glane?
