I'm willing to bet that if it's the latter we'll be fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan as part of the campaign quite a bit. Either way, somewhat excited for this one!

I really wish they would expand on the more complicated themes they try and implement in these trailers like they did during the first Black Ops and MW2. Time and time again they miss the opportunity to make stories based around the ethical and political implications of their actions. A few references here and there to conspiracies and the malevolence of big government coupled with about 12 hours of mindless killing.

They only one with decent choices in it is probably BO2 with who you choose to kill and/or let die (Menendez, Mason, Karma, etc...).

To go further, has COD even tried to pull the same level of shit they did with No Russian or the DC nuke?

Infinity Ward - Modern Warfare series has 3 good games (CoD: 4, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare).
Treyarch - WaW/Black Ops series has 3 good games (World at War, Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2).

Pretty even. Treyarch has zombies tho so I think they edge out Infinity Ward.
