What is your favorite battle?

Post in the comments below what your favorite battle is, and why. Maybe include pictures?
Mine is the battle of lookout mountain, simply because it is the closest battle to me, and it is cool as fuck how aggressive both sides were during the battle.

Operation Agreement, A British lead attack to retake Tobruk which failed but was a valiant attempt.

Was that during the Civil war or what war was that?

Didn’t specify just civil war but for civil war it has to be Fort Wagner with the 54th Mass

Yeah they destroyed their army and civilian population, stopped the invasion of Italy. But the figures will be misleading, same as the 1st siege of Rome by the gauls due to destruction of records. Either way, any of the figures provided are impressive.

I got a lot of favorite battles and generals, I could go all day, but the Battle of Cannae is just a great one. The Romans fielded about 85k troops while Carthage fielded about 50k. The Romans would be utterly destroyed via the formation below taking massive casualties. Polybius estimated that only 5,700 Carthaginians were lost while Livy estimated that the Romans lost about 67,500 (includes deaths and captured). This battle shaped new Roman military doctrine since the old Phalanx style became ineffective due to the pincer maneuver Hannibal used. It was also studied by many modern militaries due to its "battle of annihilation" strategy in which an entire opposing army is destroyed in 1 battle. This also showed that Hannibal was a genius on the battlefield.

(The famed pincer movement or double envelopment movement above which would destroy the Romans)

It's so crazy to think how vulnerable Rome actually was, and how they were just strong with their shields only

I don't necessarily have a favourite and it's pretty hard to pick one,
but I guess I'd pick the Battle of Gettysburg purely based off of how extensive the battle ended up being.
It's just fascinating how many regiments were present at that battle and how large it was.

The Battle of Harrisonburg is also an interesting one, but that's because the Bucktails are pretty ebic.

When it comes to the European theatre;
The Battle of Burkel, which was the last cavalry charge performed in western Europe.
The Belgian 1st Guides Regiment launched an offensive against the German troops which were entrenched in the hamlet of Burkel.
The battle resulted in a Belgian victory.

technically I like the 4-dimensional warfare rather then others

for example Operations
Desert storm (The 100-hour Ground War):
-Day One: 24 February 1991
-Day Two
-...
-...
-Day Five (Chease-fire)

the air battles are also very interesting
