The Napoleonic Battle League is a competitive League throughout the year in linebattle format.
This event is launched by the corporation between IVe Corps d’Armée Français and the 2. Leib-Regiment
who aim to make linebattles competitive and bring established communities weekly together into big battles.


Procedure

The year is split into four NBL-Seasons of twelve weeks;
excluding the Summer & Winter break gap.

Teams are not necessarily one regiment that brings the three main branches
of Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery, but can also be an alliance of several specialized
regiments that mixed together form a coalition fighting other coalitions.



A point system is used to reward the performance of the teams.
The ranking table gives a comparative status of the participating regiments
in the sense of an official competition of the community.

Point-System
Victory = 3 points
Draw = 1 point
Defeat = 0 points

The team with the most points is named
"Champion of the Napoleonic Battle League"
and considered the best in the mixed fight of all troop types of its season.

The matches always take place on Wednesday.



Rules

Rules

General §1 Rulebreaking may be punished with slays/kicks/bans. The punishment, however, is subject to the Administration’s sole discretion. §2 Officer aim means shooting leading officers. §3 No hostility/offences against anyone. §4 Every officer is responsible for his own men. §5 Officers are not allowed to FiC (Fire in Charge). §6 Officers are not allowed to leave their unit (15 men max. spacing). §7 Only officers are allowed to use the global chat ('All-Chat'). §8 Make sure you have read the rules carefully and have passed them on to your men. §9 We want you to use the chat only for necessary stuff (in general for communication between officers & admins). §10 No discussion about the interpretation of rules during the event. Officers can talk to admins after the event. §11 No spam/flame at the event. §12 If you have less than 4 men, you have to join another unit but you still have to follow your class rules. §13 No Ramboing. Ramboing means violating rule §12. §14 Looting of any kind is allowed, mind the special ruleset for rifles. §15 Every unit can spawn with two specialists: Medic, Musician and/or Flag Bearer. §16 Only one officer is allowed for each unit (except artillery). §17 Only choose InGame-Classes suitable for your signed class (e. g. Signed as Line, means not playing Guard). §18 No ‘officer aim’! Officers fighting with any weapon are no longer protected and can be killed by shooting. If shot by a cannonball, the officer will not be revived as this does not count as oa. §19 If the admin orders an ‘Allcharge’, no one is allowed to shoot. Counteractions will be punished. §20 The OA rule also protects the cavalry officer. §21 Players without signed tags will be kicked. §22 After 10 minutes the admins can announce an "All Charge". §23 Cavalry units who conquer an Artillery position are allowed to steal the cannons and bring them to their camp. §24 Minimum attendance is 80. If a team fails to bring less than 70, the other team doesn’t have to drop to below 80 ppl. §25 If the team with the weaker attendance brings 80 - 89 players, the other team gets a +4 balance; 90 - 99 players, the other team gets a +6 balance; 100+ players, the other team gets a +8 balance. §26 If there is any certain phrase or rule which becomes invalid, it shall not affect the validity of any other phrase or rule. If any provision becomes fragmentary or interpretable, both parties agree on analogous rules and standards according to the closest interpretation established by the Admin Staff. §27 Reviving in the Administration's sole discretion relating to oa, teamkill, etc..

Cavalry §1 If less than 4 men, cavalry must dismount and join another unit. §2 They may pick up any kind of weapons. §3 Dismounted Cavalry, when 3+ players, must follow the rules of Line Infantry. §4 Officers may shoot with their pistol just before their unit is charging. §5 May stay mounted during allcharge and doesn’t have to dismount anymore if they drop below 4 men.

Light Infantry §1 May not FiC. §2 May crouch. §3 May not ‘officer aim’. §4 If they are less than 4 men, they have to join another unit. §5 May use two men spacing. §6 Is not allowed to spread out and fire alone; need to be in formation while shooting

Rifles §1 May not spawn with or loot bayonets (except in All-Charge). §2 May not FiC. §3 May crouch. §4 May not ‘officer aim’. §5 If they are less than 4 men, they have to join another unit. §6 Maximum spacing of 5 men.

Line Infantry §1 May not fire out of Formation. §2 May not crouch. §3 May not use spacings; also while moving. §4 May not officer aim. §5 If they are less than 4 men, they have to join another unit. §6 Must always stay in formation.

Artillery §1 Max. 3 Sappers. §2 Max. 2 earthworks per cannon. §3 Only one sandbag per cannon. §4 Artillery has 225 building points. §5 Sappers are not allowed to use bugs or explosive crates. §6 Is allowed to exchange one of their cannons to a howitzer. §7 Moving away from the Artillery position, makes you a line following their rules. §8 Artillery is not allowed to split into two camps of position. §9 Artillery is allowed to take two Officers. §10 Arillery Officers are not protected as regards “OA rule”.

Artillery Guards §1 Artillery-Guards need to select the "Artillery-Guard" to benefit from rules. §2 Artillery-guard is not allowed to ‘officer aim’. §3 May FiC, but not RiC (Reload in Charge), unless they are taking cover in their "defense facility". §4 The defense facility is the Anti-cavalry square and it is not allowed to surround the cannons. §5 There is no formation required for Artillery-Guard as long as they are in their artillery position (not necessarily in their defense facility). §6 When not firing, no formation is required. §7 If Artillery-guards leave their artillery position, they have to follow the rules for line infantry.

General Staff §1 Only one member of the entire team is allowed to select the General-unit. §2 May choose up to two guards playing as heavy cavalry §3 May stay mounted during allcharge §4 The General Staff are prohibited to attack on their own unless an allcharge has been called §5 Can act on his own at any time (General) §6 Is protected by the OA rules (General) §7 If dismounted, they are required to adopt the set of rules for line infantry. §8 If the General is killed, his staff may not play any longer as an independent unit. They then are required to join a friendly unit, but not the cavalry. §9 The General Staff are required to stay and move as one unit.

Season 1

After a very succesfully test phase, the first season begins now.
Four coalitions are playing in the first season of NBL. Coalitions can use servers hosted by their own or server from 2Lr or IVe Corps.
To make it fair both Coalitions, who are playing against each other, have two admins in spec, so that every match we have admins of four.

Both sides fought really hard and competitive tonight but through constant skirmish and some great teamplay the Empire Français could snatch the victory from their Prussian enemies. Well fought IVe Corps & Allies. You highly deserved the 3 points!

Tonight the Kingdom of Prussia managed to emerge victorious from battle. After tons of fierce fighting they got their first 3 points. Next week their French counterpart will get their chance to get back the lad. We will be fighting again on french soil

If there are team's who wanna join this competition dont wait to tell us. The competitive background and the self organising and admininstrating setup is a great mix of ingredients. For bigger regiments or formed up teams there is no need to organise their own LB event every week! Also the administration is only once per two Weeks so every second week all of your guys can play without the admin job. Just enjoying 
The competitve background gives the Linbattle more "sense" and makes it hopefully more attractive. By playing all over the year you dont have to take your extra time but to make place for this event (on Wednesday). Like in reallife sports we will have seasons played and "elect" a champion each season by gaining points with every win or draw. Sign up and fight against for the title "best Regiment in NW".

It was a rather chaotic start but we will adapt the ruleset tomorrow to make sure anything causing trouble today will not happen again next week. Sorry about that.
Gardecorps drew their match 2-2 against Rockstars, Iron Crusaders started with a strong win against La coalition française 4-0.
