The 125e was organized in 1810, out of two batallions of the 4th (Pink facings) and the 2nd batallion of the 7th (yellow) of the line, when the Kingdom Holland was dissolved and their armed forces transferred into French service. However, the 2nd battalion of the 4th battalion was actually dressed in light blue due to batallion-switching, and the 125e also got two new battalions dressed in French uniforms between 1810 and 1812, so that by the start of the Russia campaign, it had no less then four different uniforms.
They are usually referred to as 'Dutchmen in French service', though this is technically not correct, as all Dutchmen received the French nationality in 1810.
