avoir de magnifiques compagnies de grenadiers, je les fais rejoindre la division Duhesme pour que cette division puisse avoir 8 bataillons de 8 compagnies...". La Division Duhesme est une division d'élite de Grenadiers et Voltigeurs à Brescia. Cattaro est finalement rendu aux Français, après la paix de Tilsitt (8 juillet 1807) le 15 août 1807. Des renforts sont envoyés en Dalmatie : la Division Clausel. Napoléon écrit donc au prince Eugène, de Saint-Cloud, le 5 septembre 1807 : « A Eugène Napoléon, vice-roi d'Italie Mon fils, je reçois la lettre par laquelle vous m'apprenez que vous allez revoir la division Clausel, pour la porter à 5,000 hommes. Mon intention serait que cette division fût portée à 9 ou 10.000 hommes. En effet, les huit régiments français qui sont en Dalmatie ont un présent sous les armes de 10 000 hommes et forment seize bataillons. La division Clausel compte, d'après le dernier relevé du 15 août, 4 540 hommes, et le dépôt des huit régiments se compose de 5 000 hommes. La division Duhesme (division d'Ancône) de 1 000 hommes, appartenant à cinq d'entre eux régiments. Je pense donc que la division Clausel devrait être organisée de cette manière, à savoir : 8e légère, six compagnies de 200 hommes chacune, 1 200 hommes. Seules les 6e, 7e et 8e compagnies resteront au dépôt. La des grenadiers et des voltigeurs feront partie des six compagnies en marche ; 18e léger (même composition) 1 200 ; 5e ligne (exploitant sept compagnies de 200 hommes), 3 400 ; le 23, sept compagnies de 200 hommes, 4 400 ; 11e, sept compagnies de 200 hommes, 1 400 ; 79e, 1 400 ; 60e, 1 400 ; 81e, trois compagnies de 200 hommes, 600. Total, 10 000 hommes. La division serait donc composée de deux bataillons de six compagnies chacun, formant 2 400 hommes de cinq bataillons de sept compagnies chacun, 7 000 ; et un bataillon de trois compagnies, 600 hommes. Total, 10 000 hommes. Vous enverrez aussi 300 Brescians et 500 hommes de la garde royale, marcher avec la division Clausel, afin que cette division marche forte de 10 à 11,000 hommes, qui, ajoutés à l'armée français de Dalmatie, formerait plus de 25 000 hommes ; mais ces hommes doivent être bien armés, bien équipés et avoir déjà la meilleure éducation. Si donc les 6 000 hommes qui sont aux dépôts ne vous paraissent pas suffisamment instruits et ne sont pas habillés le 1er octobre, selon l'ordre que je donnerai, pour aller renforcer le corps du général Marmont, vous enverra la division Clausel dans la situation où elle se trouve actuellement, c'est-à-dire formant 5 000 hommes, mais organisée de telle sorte qu'il n'y ait que trois compagnies par régiment : 1 200 hommes chacune. compagnie. Je vois avec peine que vous n'avez pas exécuté l'ordre que je vous ai donné de réduire le nombre de compagnies afin que les 752 hommes du 8e léger ne formaient que trois compagnies de 225 hommes chacun; idem, pour les 610 hommes du 18e, pour le 5e de ligne, vous ferez partir quatre compagnies ; pour le 11, trois ; pour le 23, quatre ; pour le 60e, trois; pour le 79e, trois ; et deux pour le 81e ; de façon que chaque compagnie comptera de 200 à 450 hommes. Mon intention est que ces compagnies, arrivées à Zara, soient incorporées dans les deux premiers bataillons, et que les cadres retournent à l'armée. la général de division, les deux généraux de brigade, marcheront avec cette division, pour inspecter son passage ; mais, lorsqu'il sera arrivé en Dalmatie et incorporé, tout cela reviendra en Italie. Le 30 octobre 1807, l'Empereur écrit de Fontainebleau à Eugène Napoléon, vice-roi d'Italie : « Mon fils, mon intention serait de compléter les deux bataillons de guerre des huit régiments qui sont en Dalmatie à l'effectif de 140 hommes par compagnie soit 2 520 hommes pour les deux bataillons ; faites-moi dresser un tableau qui me fera connaître la situation de l'armée de Dalmatie au 15 octobre. Vous comprendrez le détachements que vous avez envoyés avec la division Clausel, le nombre d'hommes que chaque régiment a dans les hôpitaux de Dalmatie, l'effectif réel de chaque régiment, et ce qui manque pour ces huit régiments forment un total de 20 160 hommes, y compris les malades. Mon intention est aussi que mes troupes italiennes, qui sont en Dalmatie, soient complétées à l'effectif de 140 hommes par compagnie. Avant de donner aucun ordre de mouvement, vous attendrez les nouveaux ordres que je donnerai à la suite du rapport que vous me ferez ».
base d'actifs. Début mai 2016, le régiment rejoint le GIR, un corps russe composé de différents régiments sans réelle orientation. Le mois suivant, suite à une mauvaise entente et des problèmes majeurs dans le corps, le régiment a pris la décision de quitter le corps. Début juin sonne une mauvaise passe pour le régiment : l'effectif tombe à 7 membres actifs. Après réflexion, les derniers militaires présents décident de recruter massivement. Toujours dans le gouffre, le régiment décide de se convertir à Léger suite au manque d'effectifs. Cela n'a pas duré, car en peu de temps, 27 nouveaux membres sont arrivés. Le régiment s'est rebaptisé 5e régiment d'infanterie de ligne. Finalement, ils ont décidé de rejoindre la Jeune Garde. Mais après un certain temps, ils sont partis, principalement en raison d'une mauvaise atmosphère dans le corps. Le régiment était puis redevint indépendant et le resta assez longtemps. Le recrutement est réglementé pour éviter les dissensions et l'état-major est remanié à plusieurs reprises. Depuis le 22 février 2017, le 5ème Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne a pris la décision d'accepter une compagnie de Cavalerie, dirigée par Lapin et Charles, avec l'objectif de devenir 2 régiments regroupés pour unir Nos compétences. Malheureusement, la compagnie n'a pas duré en raison de différences entre les officiers de ligne et de cavalerie. Fin avril 2017, la 5e connaît une nouvelle crise sous forme de coup d'État, et se retrouve en bord de dissolution. Le colonel Napo garde 5 membres actifs et s'engage à maintenir le régiment pendant 1 mois. A la fin de ce mois, le régiment reprend vie, et les officiers prennent la décision de veiller sur le grain en qui ils ont placé leur confiance. Le 5ème est donc resté indépendant en visant une bonne ambiance, tant amusant et compétitif. Devant la diminution des effectifs tant au sein du 5e que dans la majorité de la communauté française, le 5e décide de rejoindre un corps en formation, la Légion étrangère, et entend y rester. jusqu'aux derniers jours de Napoléon.
