Wait is that how much a second hand car costs in the US? In the UK you can often get cars for ~1,000 pounds. Generally well used but perfectly serviceable.

Anywhere from $1000 ~ $40,000 if we're just talking about a car for an average person.


Also i don't have a car yet but I plan on getting an old Ford pickup truck or something along that line. Cheap, reliable and has history behind it.

I wouldn't necessarily call anything made by Ford reliable. Some of their newer stuff is good, but old Ford trucks scare me more than Fiats and MGs made in the 60s.

What year/make are you looking at?

1999 Toyota Corolla, Manual windows and Locks, 2 Trump bumper stickers, great with gas.

Oh and somehow only 70,000 miles.

Japanese cars are pretty good.

I'm just trying to find a decent car with minimal problems for under like $1800.

I would keep saving for as long as you can. For $1800, you will mostly find barn-finds or mistreated machines with anywhere from 180-300 on the odom.

Also, I would not recommend ever using Craigslist unless you're looking for something like an older Miata that can (usually) only be purchased from a private-seller. I know a fair amount about cars and made sure to get it through a mechanic.

My parents have a 2010 Acura RDX, which I drive sometimes.
My dream first car is a 2007 Acura TL.

What makes you want an Acura so bad? Just wondering.

I relied on other people to drive me to placement for the past two, and thankfully I'm back in Sheffield for the current one and one after. I really should get a car at some point, but for the moment I'm still able to leech off others haha
I was thinking of like a second hand VW Golf/Polo or something along those lines, but idk yet.

VW makes a decent car. I don't like the controversy that happened a couple years ago though.

I'll put it a different way:

If you break a rule, you get banned. I'm not sure about all the offensive stuff everyone's talking about, but that's how it works.
