13th Somersetshire Light Infantry - YouTube Page!

We decided to take our community further recently and play with Youtube. At first it was a joke until we started working on some actual projects. If you watch the earlier video's and compare them to whats being uploaded now you will see the difference in dedication. I want to thank my both Captains for actually making this a more serious Youtube channel.

  • Shredder who regularly uploads weekly line battles and does a great job at making the 20/30 minute video's funny to watch with captions and images.
  • Robert who likes to work on bigger projects, short movies and clips that involve the whole regiment.

They both are making this channel with actual content instead of a channel with 3 videos that will go dead. Here are some examples of our content that my members produced so far. We will upload weekly and look for bigger projects in the near future.

This weeks Factions are to be chosen.

Rules *Will be heavily enforced!*

By calling this line battle "hardcore" does not mean it is directed at "hardcore" regiments. It is directed at regiments that will follow these rules, and it means that the admins will do their best to enforce the rules for the benefit or pleasurable game play. Please read these carefully.

Individual Regiment Player Limits

  • Line-infantry: 8 minimum, 30 maximum
  • Skirmishers and Light-infantry: 6 minimum, 16 maximum
  • Cavalry (if deployed): 8 minimum, 18 maximum
  • Artillery (if deployed): 2 cannons, up to 14 guards and 2 sappers

Rules On The Battlefield

Line Infantry

  • - There will be *NO* firing on charge. Only fire in line formation.
  • - You may *NOT* place your line in cover and fire from that position. This means it cannot be hidden behind a hill or so. The regiment must be placed in FULL view of the enemy from the boots up. Meaning that boots may be in cover. Essentially no hill shielding.
  • - Ramboing is considered after the last of the men left are equal to 4(exeption when they are already fighting in melee).
  • - When the regiment drops to 4 they must accompany another line or regiment. 5 men in the line may move, 4 must join another
  • - You may *NOT* intentionally aim for the captain of the enemy regiment.
  • - Line regiments may *NOT* crouch down, exception Double line.

Cavalry

  • - Must always be in formation unless in charge.
  • - Dragoons can fire from horseback(when standing still in line formation).
  • - After dropping below 4 players they must dismount & join a line on foot.

Artillery

  • - You can choose to bring either 2 Cannons OR 1 Howitser and 1 Cannon.
  • - If the Rocket troop is available then there is a maximum of 3 per artillery crew (can be swapped with howitzer or field cannons).
  • - If your regiment falls under two people or less it *must* join up with another line regiment if present.

Light Infantry

  • - Light Infantry can form: Light Infantry spacing with 2 man spaces in line (no more).
  • - When deployed in Closed Line formation, Light Infantry must follow Line Infantry rules.
  • - If a Light infantry unit is reduced to 4 men, they must join onto a line regiment.
  • - When firing, you must be in a formation. Spaced out line with spacing, but you may not fire point blank in a blob.

Skirmishers

  • - Skirmishers (rifles) can form: Skirmisher spacing with 5 man spaces in line (no more).
  • - 1 Sapper allowed.
  • - Allowed to take cover in buildings and fences or walls but the maximum distance stays in effect and some form of line must be maintained.
  • - If a Skirmish unit is reduced to 4 men, they must join onto a line regiment.
  • - When firing, you must be in a formation. Spaced out line with spacing, but you may not fire point blank in a blob.

Application

About Specialties. These are special roles, they are Light Infantry, Skirmishers, Cavalry and Artillery.

To have one special role on one team, there must be another regiment filling the same role on the other team.  If there is 2 or more regiments competing for a role on one team, they will be rotated each week giving everyone a chance. All regiments will be defaulted as line until they fill a special role. Another note is that there will be no specialties until there are a minimum of 100 total players, that's 50 a side.

Application needed to be filled out.

Regiments / 13th Somersetshire Light Infantry -13thSLI- *Recruiting EU+NA*
« on: December 07, 2012, 05:40:10 pm »

The Thirteenth Somersetshire Light Infantry Regiment was historically one of the many light infantry regiments in the British Army. Founded in 1685, it is still going to this day.

Who We Are

The 13thSLI was formed by a group of friends playing together. We are currently both EU and NA and do events for both. We went into the regimental universe that Mount&Musket has forged. We started in February last year and passed our 1st anniversary. The regiment has been around for a long time, the officers and members decided to take the regiment to step up a level. We are not a historical regiment and instead we believe our selfs to be one of the more serious regiments, with set tactics and formations that are more advanced than the average regiment out there.

Just a couple of notes about the schedule:
  • We train at least 30 minutes before each event. The events last up to 1 hour.

  • There will be new events added and schedule changes every so often.

Interested In Joining?

Joining the regiment is simple. There is little required of you other than participating in training and events. In order for you to join these are the requirements:

Mount&Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars - This one is self explanatory, you need the game in order to play.
Steam - We need you to have a steam account in order for you to join our steam group.
(Here is the download link for steam: http://store.steampowered.com/about/)
Teamspeak - This is a definite requirement, you need to be able to hear the commander in events and trainings.
(Here is the download link for teamspeak: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads)
Maturity - We are a group of people that play together to have fun at the end of the day, the serious take on Napoleonic Wars is there if you enjoy it. There is no age limit and we do not seek skillful members, skill will come with time and training but you will not get there unless a certain level of Maturity is shown.
