I'll kick us off with a great documentary that I saw last night about the 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards. They are the ones that guard Buckingham Palace and the documentary shows footage of them in Helmand Province and the UK, preparing for the Trooping of the Colour on the Queen's birthday parade.

All 10 hours of the Ken burn documentary "The Civil War"
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

"The Light Bulb Conspiracy" was on TV a year ago or so. Must have been one of the best and most informative documentaries I have seen for a while. To make a long story short, it's about companies and planned obsolescence. I think I found a version uploaded on youtube. With Norwegian subtitles.

Just gorgeous. The message is powerful too, if a bit alarmist.

"A feature length documentary work which will present a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society.

This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical life ground attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a Resource-Based Economy."

Decided to watch "Escape to the Legion", thoroughly enjoyed all four episodes.

I was worried because it was a Bear Grylls documentary. Luckily for me he wasn't the central piece of the programme and therefore I enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for the recommendation!

You're welcome!

And yeah it's a bit of a different one to what he usually does but that's why I watched it
