Civil War was best

Cap muskets aren't even fun.

I wouldn't say that they are less fun to shoot than flintlocks.

And they almost never misfire + on high winds the powder doesn't fly in your face when opening the pan.

I respectfully disagree, Flintlock does not have enough freedom IMO.

Springfield Flintlock do have little freedom but compared to M1 Garand who have seen the world.

It brought freedom to Western Europe, North Africa, South America, Japan, Korea, South Pacific, and finally Vietnam. What a epic Freedom World Tour it was.

The fun is the delay of the shot and the powder flying in your face. Its all apart of the experience.

Ah I remember my very first shot, when I accidentally pourred half of the cartridge in my pan and having a mininuke hit me in the face a moment later. Good times.

Or heavy wind... All the powder you add to the pan is gone immedietly.
Wind while igniting is even worse, you are guaranteed to get some burnmarks.

Its awesome!

AH yes, had that last week on saturday. Wind kept blowing out of my pan before the sparks could ignite it.

I know a fellow that had a cartridge in his hand while firing and it caught and went up in his face, burning his brow off. Another rev war reenactor had a powder horn filled to the brim and it caught a spark. The thing blew sky high in a loud bang.
