After consulting with Rommel we came to the conclusion that Harriers idea is really the best way to solve this. The prior Organizers didnt take nationality too serious so we dont have anything to really work with. Since we will change that in this and the upcoming cups its probably the best if we make a cut and let the players in question choose ONCE between their Nations. Again: You cant switch your nation after this cup, so it will stay for the upcoming NWWC tourneys.
I don't really see the point in legislating for future tournaments since international events have changed hosts many times in NW throughout the years. Hekko and I have hosted NWECs in the past and we did take nationality seriously, serious enough to recognise that some people have multiple nationalities and that it's completely arbitrary in an open-circuit, online-based competitive game to limit someone to a single nation for their entire playing career. It makes a tad more sense in the real world where logistics are very important and costly, where big contracts are being signed, and where single-body organisations control the entire competitive scene (e.g. FIFA) and can actually feasibly enforce such a thing. We have the luxury of the internet in our case and none of those burdens, I don't see why we should conform to their model. Since this doesn't exactly impact this particular event much I'm not going to press the point much more, but I think you should reconsider the principles of your statement here. If I for example wanted to play for the ex-Yugo states one time, maybe even in a minor tournament like a 5vs5, since I am part-Balkan and understand the Serbo-Croat language to a day-to-day conversational degree, I don't really see how that should problematic since it doesn't compromise the competitive integrity of the event and I qualify for it as much as I do the GB team.
If you judge a sovereign country as able to control their own borders and make their own rules then we should get rid of team GB, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Netherlands and have team European Union, then all the other countries.
Why I'm voting
