Good day Mesdames et Messieurs! Welcome to the official thread of the reborn 2ème Régiment de Hussards!

This regiment is an EU Cavalry Regiment, mostly casual yet also competitive and composed of veteran players as well as beginners.
We welcome any nationality regardeless of their background and the only thing we demand is decent English skills (you don't have to be native speaker, but you at least should be able to understand the simple commands during events).

The regiment tries to bring a fun environment to those who are looking for a casual place to chill and hang out. While also bringing a more competetive vibe for those interested in the more serious side of the game
We do our best to balance these 2 out to create the most enjoyable expierence for anyone playing. We try to look disciplined while allowing fun to be had in the Teamspeak
To ensure that we have a community we have a Regiment-wide Discord outside of events

The 2ème Régiment de Hussards was originally formed in 1735 under the name of Esterhazy Houzards, houzard being the old term used in honor of the first Hungarian houzards squadrons.
It is one of the five first regiments of hussars created in the French Army.
It acquired the name of Chamborant Houzards in 1761, and therefore is the heir to its traditions even nowadays,
until 1791 when it is renamed 2ème Régiment de Hussards alongside many others hussars regiments using the Houzards denomination.
It fought numerous battles during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, as well as it served under the Old Regime.
In 1792 it fought at the Battle of Valmy, battle considered as the one who secured the legitimacy of the new proclaimed First Republic.
Early 1796 it participated to the siege of Mainz (Mayence) and in April 1797 while French armies were crossing the Rhine at Neuwield,
the 2e Hussards charged the Austrian cannon batteries defending the bridge, hustled a couple of Austrian cavalry regiments and captured two cannons.
It will also fight at Austerlitz in 1805 and at Friedland in 1807. Following those battles, it will earn their names on its flag.
The regiment will keep on fighting in Spain from 1808 to 1813 until it is called upon for the Battle of Leipzig on the 16 October 1813,
where it will witness the Coalition victory over the French troops, and later the fall of the French Empire.
Nevertheless it remained loyal to the Emperor during the Hundred Days, and charged for the last time the 1st July 1815 at Sevenans, the Austrian infantry.
This last charge executed by only three squadrons of the regiment will do 600 prisonners among the Austrians.

The 2ème Régiment de Hussards still exists nowaday, as a discrete recon and scouting regiment.
It has fought in most wars where France was a belligerent, from its creation to nowadays, therefore nearly four centuries.
Since 2009, the regiment is based at Haguenau, near the German border.
