I find horse artillery without horses to be pretty much the same category as cavalry without horses. You're missing the one vital thing that makes your impression different from the rest. I understand why it happens, of course. A great uniform, being something 'more' and 'special, and the fact that you can swag around with cavalry sabres, and when people comment on your lack of horses you just bring up the 'expensive'-excuse. If people can't afford an impression in full, or are simply not willing to do that full picture with all the gear that makes that impression, as it should be done, I don't think they should do it. Simple as that. Exceptions only for very expensive not-used items, such as fire-arms for cavalry and artillery. I can understand not spending +1000 euro on something you'll just carry around. Great respect to those that do, of course.
This comes from a cavalryman who does sit on a horse, who's sick of camping next to 'dismounted' dragoons that go around camp telling everybody how great it is to be a cavalryman.
